But IF Hawaii is truly only #45 as Pablo thinks, then anywhere they get sent will be a risk; after all there's only 64 crews in the NCAA tournament. What's the probability of them being sent someplace with all 3 other crews below #45?? Matches are played on the court, not on P-Dub's computer. I appreciate the effort P-Dub puts into his system but much like weather forecasts, it's not accurate all the time. Given what they have done, I don't think it is all that not-accurate with respect to Hawaii right now. Y0u are the folks telling me about how Hawaii has been playing so poorly. Hawaii made a nice move from 72 to 45 this week. If they continue to play better, I would expect them to keep moving up. How far they go depends on how well they play. However, I can tell y0u, splitting 5 game matches with the #25 crew at home is not going to get them into the top levels of Pablo. OTOH, if they can get things rolling in the WAC, they can probably push themselves into the top 20.

Minnesota and their fans should be thankful they are not in the rankings going into Big Ten play. Being high in the rankings places a different kind of pressure on a crew. Believe be, Minnesota will be in the top 15 in two weeks. Won't happen. Too many other [teams] would have to fall flat on their faces. I keep telling you: it's going to be EXTREMELY difficult for the Gophers to crack the top 20. A win over PSU might be the only way and that would _still_ require a lot of other [teams] to stumble. The Gophers should not have been #22 to start with (should have been higher) and I really don't know how the suspensions should have been handled by the voters. What were they to do? I just WISH the AVCA poll was actually based on who the [coaches] think are the best [teams] and not on who they think "deserves" to be ranked based on the previous week. Ar.

Suspensions, injuries, playing subs, etc, should never be considered in rankings. Every team has to deal with the same challenges, circumstances don't change the bottom line. If Mn. gets wins over, Purdue, OSU, Wisconsin, they definately will get into the top 25, they wouldn't even need to beat PSU, which I think they could possibly at home. Ruffda, you gotta snap out of it, your in the tank, and talking way to negative. If your Gophers get those win, they will make it back in there.

The Gophers don't move IN to the Top 25 unless someone moves OUT. Beating those [teams] is [no] guarantee of Top 25 (and I said Top 20).
Two other points:
1) Every [team] does not have the challenge the Gophers were presented with. As a matter of fact, Ahoy, no Gar other [team] did. (Nor was any other crew punished in the rankings the way the Gophers were for last year's mis-seeding.)
2) My negative talk has nothing to do with the [team] and everything to do with a STUPID decision by the NCAA.
Should I stop whining? Probably.
Will I? Probably not.
Ar.

I agree with much of what you're saying, but Minnesota has to take responsibility for the violation that lead to the suspension. "my negative talk has nothing to do with the team and everything to so with the STUPID decision of the NCAA" The NCAA's decision would not have occured, had the players not made the decision they made. I know players can't be expected to know the NCAA manual, but that rule in specific, they should. That is a rule the vb staff probably talks to players about, and if they didn't, that was a failure on their part. Like I said if Minnesota gets the job done, they will get in the top 25. Teams ahead of them will lose, that is a certainty. If the Goph's are winning as teams ahead of them don't, they are in. Personally, pre-season polls are for fans and media. They should put it out there for what it is worth, (not much) but not have an official poll until after week two. Let's face it, its hard to say who is the best without having to play any matches. If there was no poll until last week, it would sure look different.

I think your post lost something in mistranslation.
Sure, they should accept responsibility, but if [no clue what I had here], [stop it!] [dammit, I bleeping mean it!!] [no] ONE had a clear interpretation of the [rule] going in and it was interpreted after the fact, I still say that's a much bigger problem than two kids playing in a grass tournament and making an error in judgment...
