Are Hooker and Armstrong hurt? I saw that Paolini and Christian were playing, while Armstrong didn't play at all and Hooker only sparingly. I know that Armstrong has had injury issues, so I am guessing that is why she wasn't in the match. I think those two are the Longhorns' best options at those positions if they are healthy, although it must be nice having two experienced players able to step in and play.

Yeah, strange that Hooker only had one attempt. I hope she's not hurt. Good to see Christian putting up nice numbers. Paolini with a whopping .643 percentage. She isn't quick on the block, but she hits w/ such trajectory from in front of the setter. And I think it's good that Texas doesn't just run the slide to death, especially now that they seem to have Engle running at full speed. That's nice to see. Engle took the most swings of all players on the court. Maybe she will still be contending for FOY.

Assuming no injuries, I think Coach Elliott is just trying to give different players, like Christian, more playing time.
No offense, but I don't think he thought Colorado would be much of a threat, so he was able to go futher down the bench for longer periods of time.
He's probably letting Armstrong fully recover from her illness, hoping she'll be 100% for the game at Missouri on Saturday evening.

He should hold Armstrong out until a week before Nebraska. At this point, a match against Missouri looks like it may not be that big of a deal anyway.

UT has beaten their first three Big XII opponents - Texas Tech, Kansas, and Colorado - and all matches were 3-0.
Ashley Engle is coming on strong. Her last three games she hit .469 - .348 - .423. 17 kills against the Buffs. Two weeks ago she had 26 kills against Penn State. She has a beautiful all-round game.
Texas sophomore Lauren Paolini, a 6'5" middle, is on a tear too, hitting .643 - .550 - .553 - .643 her last four games.
Tea will be back when she's well...she's hitting .403 for the season.
We have five more Big XII matches over the next couple weeks, but then the one I can't wait for - October 18 - Nebraska!

It's hard to decide just how good Texas is. Texas can't even decide how good Texas is. I think in many regards they are the best team, but they might be the most suspect of the best teams. In the best team category, Nebraska, PSU, Stanford Washington, Texas, UCLA.
