Engle and Hodge are waging a nice battle for FOY, one of them could even be battling for POY.

It's hard to decide just how good Texas is. Texas can't even decide how good Texas is. I think in many regards they are the best team, but they might be the most suspect of the best teams. In the best team category, Nebraska, PSU, Stanford Washington, Texas, UCLA. They're a lot like Washington 2004 -- really good and they pretty much have all the necessary pieces, but they don't know what it feels like to be #1. They'll make the Final Four in 2006/2007 and win the title in 2008.

I agree Nebraska is a good test. So far, on the positive side of the ledger for the Horns:
* beat No. 3 Washington 3-2 - defending National champs * beat no. 4 Santa Clara 3-0 * beat No. 9 Wisconsin 3-0 - in Wisconsin * beat No. 19 Pepperdine 3-1 - in Malibu * swept their three Big 12 opponents 3-0 * won the AVCA Showcase tournament
On the loss side: * lost to No. 2 Penn State 2-3 – in a close match in which the Horns had several match points * lost to No. 23 Cal Poly 2-3

We will find out about how good Texas is come nebraska time. Most people would say the contrary. Nebraska against Texas will be their first real test and that #1 ranking. Texas has already played some very good teams and no one really knows how good Nebraska is with the weak schedule so far. Cheers!

If you check out the Strength of Schedule thread, all indications are that both Texas and Nebraska have played pretty strong schedules so far. Texas has had the toughest schedule I've found, but Nebraska's is nothing to sneeze at, either.
Both teams have been tested nicely, and I don't think we need to see them play each to know really how good either is. They are both exceptional. Why split hairs beyond that, especially at this point in the season?

I doubt it. Has any freshman ever won POY? I don't think Walsh, May, or Tom did. Engle and Hodge are waging a nice battle for FOY, one of them could even be battling for POY.

..............and no one really knows how good Nebraska is with the weak schedule so far. Cheers! It will be a great match to see......and may pose more questions than answers when it is completed.

What strong schedule are you talking about?!
