Well, Pressey was worth watching, she had a great match. Cutura, on the otherhand... well let's just say she needs a little pac10 experience.

Looks like Cal gave a little more fight in game 3, although I didn't see what it looked like. Could very well have been UW coasting.

UCLA killed UO 30-22, 30-13, 30-20 (UO hit .015). UCLA had a block fest. Stats posted are wrong but play-by-play showed Nana and Ali led the win again.

back from the game. im not a coach or anything but i will try to give my impressions. first I was surprised at Cals game. Last year they took us to five and looked great. Even the year before they were scrapy. This game they never really showed up except for a bit of game three.
in game one they served out around eight times. They were not able to pass. We were serving nails. Only oneserving error in the game. It was the best game of the year so far and Cal looked shell shocked. Cutura had several kills then got blocked twice and was never a threat again. She was served at often and did not pass well. She also had a hard time picking up dinks. It seemed to me she also took allot of time to wind up for a hit and gave us time to set up a good block.
game two more of the same. we jump off in front and never looked back. Kept serving at Hana till it seemsed coach just pullled her out. Morgan beck was picked on too and she was really struggling passing.
mean while. our libero was great. Tama is coming along. If Court digs she sets. Christal was solid and with Stevie on fire she could pick her spots.
The third game Cal did better. However we made more unforced errors. I think our focused suffered a bit. Late in the game it was i think 26-25 and a time out by Jim then straight points to 30.
btw angie pressey is very fun to watch.. Hana Curtua will need to get use to the better play in the pac ten than the pre season.
We looked allot better than the last pre season game i saw. If we play to the same standard tomorrow night it is going to be a classic match. Stanford is always fun to watch.
Im sure they are gonig to bring it and it looks like we will too.
Tonight i thought that Cal was done in by unforced errors, hitting errors and not being able to match the intesity the huskies brought to the game.

Just got back from the game. Here are my impressions:
- The only view Hana Cutera should have of the court is from the bench. She was horrible. Can't pass, can't move and can only sort-of hit.
- Stevie Mussie had a great game. She was hitting both front row and back row and doing it for great effect.
- Christal sort of struggled at times, especially with her early serving. She settled down, but never really got in gear.
- Courtney was hands down the better setter. Part of that was that Cal was passing so poorly, but Carter seemed very tentative and slow.
- Morgan Beck had a poor game.
- I am sure Pressey had OK stats, but she was basically a non-factor.
- There is officially a 9 inch difference between Cutura and the girl that plays backrow for her. 19 I might believe, but 9 is not even close.
- UW was having a block party. Sandell had a great day at the net. Swarbrick was OK. Some blocks, but also sort of tentative at the net.

You guys that were there, what was the ref saying to courtney when they were talking for a minute or two? Was UW chatting it up a bit? Cause they really looked fired up in the first two games, I was wondering if the team was talking a bit or something across the net...
