You are right, they game last night was ugly. From what I have seen of ASU in pre-season, they were playing like they could compete very well in the Pac-10 this year. Both teams were to say the least, struggling last night. I do question the stats. The last time I checked a block was only counted as a block when it results in a point. UA blocks were way off the mark. That may be why looking at the stats it looked as though it was not possible.ASU could have won

The stats may actually be right. At least they add up. There were 104 points awarded to UA. If you add up the points they earned (kills + blocks + errors) and the opponent's errors, it comes out about right.
But... only 56 of those 104 points came on kills? That does sound like some ugly volleyball.
Reading some of the things on the arizonaathletics.com site -- Baumer's blog and some of the coach's comments after a match -- I wonder if there aren't serious chemistry problems on the team. There must be something. I know they've lost a lot of talent, but they were too good last year t have fallen quite this far.
