As usual the Huskers start out slow, but then go on a 13-5 run to win first game 30-27. Gonna have to learn how to come out of the gates on fire.

wow, texas tech is horrid, I've only watched the last 4 points and they've been aced twice(not tough serves) and scored on on a freeball and scored on again by a little rollshot that was a basic freeball.

the only time I have ever seen Nebraska play was in last years final four It is interesting to see them when they are play at home and playing well
Great venue. The crowd is into it and the gym looks intimate
The play by play seems to know what they are talking about

The play by play guy is a pretty generic guy (just added the volleyball duties to his workload) I think it's the color commentary that you might be impressed with. She's a former Husker player and a high school coach.

NU up 2 games to 0. Apparently Pavan broke a nail. I notice she spent the last 3 points looking at her nails in that way that girls do when they've broken one.

I really wish Pavan would smile.
Sang is an error machine for Tech. Proof that size doesn't really matter, Tech has some big players but they really don't know how to use their size. they look like a poorly coached team.

After hitting for 0.00 in the first game, Pavan is now hitting for .303 with 16 kills on 33 attacks, Stalls has 9 kills in 11 attempts for a .727 percentage. Maggie has a few two hit calls and was in the net once.

Kind of interesting to see both former setters on the court at the same time.

Well now that was interesting. All 3 setters on the court at the same time, as Holloway came in to serve for Pavan.

NU wins 27,17, and 24. Not the prettiest match (again) but it was nice to see Maggie get a start just to help keep her game sharp. (at least I hope that was the reason as opposed to Holloway being hurt, missed the first part of the broadcast) Cooper is good attacker, what is holding her back is setting up the block. Gates is a good blocker, but not so good offensively, hence the reason she didn't start today. Too bad we can't connect the two together like Siamese Twins. Pavan was solid after a slow start. Finished with 19 kills and a .351 average. Stalls finished with 9 kills and .727. Compared to the other teams, I still feel that NU's BR defense needs a lot of work, especially when compared to Texas or Penn St. It might be good compared to past NU standards, but it just isn't going to cut it, when playing with the big girls. Obviously, part of that has to do with a more porous block. Hopefully they will improve. Lots of upside to the team, so that's nice to see.
