Here's a couple of scores from last weekend that partly illustrate how the balance of power of women's volleyball - at least, in the West - stands these days: UCLA 3, Oregon 0 (30-22, 30-13 and 30-20; Friday in Eugene) and USC 3, Oregon 2 (24-30, 30-20, 25-30, 30-27 and 15-10; Saturday in Eugene).
The Ducks were unbeaten before last weekend, with one of those victories coming against

I think the name that completes that sentence is Long Beach State. I'm not sure why that would mean that the Pac-10 rules, but I hope bigfan will finish that message.

- A top quality setter is required to be a top quality PAC-10 team,
- It does not matter how hard your pre-season schedule is. The PAC-10 schedule will more than get you ready for the NCAA tournament.
- Given equal records, a PAC-10 team will not be voted #1 in the AVCA poll. This helps to compensate for rule #7 (see below).
- Loses to PAC-10 teams ranked above you will not hurt you in the AVCA poll.
- Loses to PAC-10 teams ranked in the Top 5 will move you up in the AVCA poll.
- Any PAC-10 team with six conference wins and a .500 or higher overall record will make the NCAA tournament.
- A PAC-10 team will win the National Championship (last broken in 2000).

Is one of the PAC 10 rules that you are allowed to have professionals on your roster?

Is one of the PAC 10 rules that you are allowed to have professionals on your roster? I wouldn't say that. I would say it is more that you are encouraged to have professionals on the roster.
