It is about time Slimpson did fairly well. Jeffers still suffers from her back injury and low sets where she can' slam it down only complicate things. Carlini, who is hobbling with an ankle boo-boo did well. Dolgner has an awful lot of errors. Seems Slimpson likes her...a lot. Sets to her are much easier "cause she is shorter than most on the team . A Great setter can set her Middles. Blado did well but her arms aren't that of a Carlini, Jeffers or Reineke. Higher is better for the last three. Blocking rocks with Wisky!!! Just wish they had a decent setter...one who couldl set and not dump on a REGULAR basis. All in all. Great job ladies. Good luck on the road this week. PSU could use some competition!

Good luck on the road this week. PSU could use some competition! Seriously, did you look at her stats before you posted? Simpson's play so far in the big ten has been nothing short of stellar. She's averaging 13.83 assists per game, 2.08 digs per game, 1.33 blocks per game, and adds 1.6 kills per game at a .621% hitting efficiency. And the most important stat of all - the team is hitting .342% and is undefeated. (season to date the Badgers are hitting .271 - up from the .254 of last year - and the .271 includes some atrocious hitting matches in the AVCA tourney) A team .342 hitting percentage says that the set location for the hitters has been more than effective. Jeffers, Carlini, and Bladow have all had great (albeit short) big ten seasons. Dolgner makes a lot of errors, but they are more the result of her being a freshman than of Simpson's setting. If I had to be picky and choose one thing for Simpson to improve, it would be the consistency of the pipe set. She seems to set Dolgner too far off the net on this set and causes her to pull up awkwardly when she approaches. Several of Dolgner's hitting errors this weekend came from the backrow - however, it's still nice to have a legitimate threat from back there.

How high should the % be? Bladow hit 10 for 17 471% and Reineke hit 4 for 11 364% many teams would kill for those middle hitting percentages.

Silver7, your criticism of Simpson is about a month late. I will admit that earlier this season some of your observations about her play were closer to the truth, but since the Big Ten season commenced she has been nothing short of excellent.
I won't rehash her recent stats, already posted above, but it would be hard for me to quibble with how well she is running the team's offense at this point. Not only have all the hitter's hitting percentages been rising, but her distribution has been excellent as well. Against MSU, five of her hitters had 8 or more kills in a three game match, and the team hitting percentage was off the charts. Both middles actually hit over .400 for the weekend, so I'm not sure you're watching what the rest of us are watching with regard to her running the middle offense.
Incidentally, not to be overlooked is the fact that Reineke has 32 blocks over the last 12 games. That's obscene blocking.......hope she can keep it up.

Bomber and Wiscvball...you both have a point about the setting of Simpson...but mind you, the competition was non-existent this past weekend. Proof will be when the playing field gets heated. Just you watch and then you can ask for my forgiveness. And stellar she was not.

Just you watch and then you can ask for my forgiveness. And stellar she was not. Considering her above stats..........yes, stellar she was. And your persistance to keep bailing out of your leaky boat is making me think you have somewhat of a personal agenda at stake here with regard to Simpson. .......and don't hold your breath waiting for me to ask for your forgiveness.
