What about Keith Shunzel?? He has Ball State right up in the lead of MIVA with IPFW and Ball State definitely doesnt have much talent outside Delgado. Shunzel just finds ways to win with that team. I think he should be considered along with Matty and Fabiano for MIVA POY.

Ok this should rile some IPFW feathers.... Now I want to make this clear my vote for MIVA POY goes to Matt zbyszewski. Remeber everybody I vote for MATT ZBSZEWSKI. HOWEVER, I saw the best non west coast match of the year last friday when BS met FW and won in five. It was the first time I got to see these two midwest powers play. And I think it is a tremendous TRAVESTY that somehow Matt zbseszewski was picked as MIVA POW for the third time this year. That is incredibly illogical. Here is my reasoning. He may have led the MIVA in kills last week, he may have had some aces BUT did anyone noticed what happened against BS? ?? he may have had 31 kills that match but someone else deserved the award. Matt had the serve with MATCH POINT (19-18 game 5), and ripped it into the net. He then at 19 all sailed one way long on a good back row set from their setter (19-20), and then on a BS match point had a swing dug by the libero and eventually pounded by Delgado for the win. Matt had chances to get a big point late in game, and eventually gave up essentially the final three points in the most important MIVA match of the year to date. Jary Delgado an outside for BS had 28 kills in the same match, and was CLUTCH IN GAME 5 and won the match for his team, while digging all night long, and passing near perfection. Both teams and players played well later that weekend against Mercyhurst. Granted Matt put up bigger numbers vs. a very week Mercyhurst team, he also got set a lot more, and that match hardly matteres. I think Matt zbseszewski is clearly the MIVA POY this year, and the best player in the Conference this year. HOWEVER Last week I don't believe he should have been awarded player of the week, because Jary Delgado for BS had a similar numerical week, yet was clutch when he had to be and carried his team to first place. Now I think Fabiano Baretto should not be POY, and while Kieth Schunzel should be considered, he should definately not be chosen for POY, that distinction should be Matts. I just think his third POW award is hardly just. Sorry all you volleydons, I love you guys, and think the world of your team and coach, but this time I got to question this.

Your logic is well thought out ... not based on emotion or personal bias. You're entitled to your opinion. I can live with that!

how come matty couldn't pull his team through Loyola?? it just goes to show that one person is not a team, and i feel it will be hard for him to take his team through the playoffs cuz everyteam will be keying on him from now on.

He was wearing a brace on his knee at the match. Supposedly he has done something to his knee again. Anyone know?

Matt did not play against Clarke tonight (IPFW won in three), but many teams have rested players against the Division III school.

That sounds like a fair evaluation FILI, I believe you. I am excited to see who shows up tomorrow night b/tn Lewis and Ball State. Should be a good match. I hope someone gives a detailed report of the match and who did better b/tn Keith and Fabiano if it is comparable.
Glad to see people saying Fabiano should be considered for MIVA POY after getting railed for saying he should be considered last month. He is certainly carrying his team.
