texas22 you are correct Stalls is playing well but you must be drinking texas moonshine if you think the other two could start for most teams. They are starting at Nebraska out of necessity. I have seen the other two middles play. Good kids, work hard but when they get matched up against a team that has great passing and a couple of big time hitters they will have problems. Of course this probably won't happen until deep into the NCAA Tournament.

oh and cooper has been hitting a nice % as of late...and she puts up a huge block .68 blocks/game is a huge block? If you had Cooper's offense and Gates's blocking, then Nebraska would be set at middle. As it is, one blocks well, the other hits well, neither does both well at this point in their careers though both certainly have the talent to develop into solid middles. I think you are way off if you think those 2 would find their way starting in any starting lineup outside of PSU, USC and Washington. They would not be starting at Florida.

Nebraska's middles this year are quite average blockers by Husker standards. Stalls is attacking like a mad woman, much of that is due to Holloway but I love Stall's fire on the court as well as her leadership. Cooper will be good. For the first time in many years Nebraska is not in the top 5 in the country in blocking and no one is listed individually. Teams that can consistantly run the middle throughout a match will cause many problems for Nebraska. See Games 1-2 v Creighton. However this is one of Nebraska's better serving teams and we all know a strong serving team can cause middles to be non factors in terms of attacking. Over the years many of you have been critical of Nebraska's floor defense behind the block. This is our biggest improvement. Is it at the level it needs to be at, not yet but it's coming along quite nicely. I look for Wilson of Mizzou to be a critical element for the Tigers tonight in their ability to win.

A little off the subject but think in 07 Minch will be starting before Cooper and Gates. Watched her play last week and believe she is going to be one of the Husker greats.

Where is Minch from??? I think Gates days on the court are numbered unless something major league improves in her game.

Minch plays for the Sterling High School Tigers in Colorado. She and her teammate Schyler Edelman are both big time divison one players . Minch very pqwerful and great blocking and Edelman ( colorado recruit ) reminded me of Jordan Larson with her all around game. The top two middles I have seen for awhile.

Is tonight's match being shown on the main Fox Sports Network?
Or, is it on one of the regional versions that are only available on satellite and upper tier cable packages?

I think this may turn out to be a test for the Huskers. Nebraska needs to take game one to stay on track.

Why haven't there been more posts about Jordan Larson? Before coming into last season people were touting her as the next coming of Logan Tom and that she was hands down FOY. Now she seems to have faded into just another player, with all the focus on the Stanford, Penn. State, Texas hitters.
Is Larson a legitmate candidate for All-American honors this season?

I think Gates days on the court are numbered unless something major league improves in her game. The same thing could have been said about Houghtelling midway through her 2nd year at Nebraska.
