I don't think that Nina recruits these kids, PEPPERDINE recuits these kids.....just look to the S/W from campus.....that sells to many of their prospective recruits....education is nothing exceptional by a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnng shot.....how do they say it in real estate, its location, location, location! While I don't put that much stock in US News college rankings, they did have Pepperdine in their top 100 "national universities". They're certainly no worse as far as academic reputation than another other WCC member school.

I have known many people who graduated from Pepperdine and most are doctors, lawyers, and business executives. I'm not sure about the academic reputation there, but I would think they rank much higher than a cal state school at the very least.

Probably only got that ranking because their tuition is as high as Stanford and U$C's is.....gotta give em something for all that money besides a view! ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png)

When my daughter was looking at colleges, we bought one of those publications that ranks schools, and I was surprised to find that the average SAT score and GPA for incoming freshmen at Pepperdine was extremely high. They had no interest in her as an outside hitter, however, because she isn't 6'3". (she has enjoyed beating them the last couple of years though ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) )

They have them ahead of Ohio State, Texas A&M, and Purdue. However - those are public schools, and the US News rankings are typically biased in favor of money and fundraising; the top 20 are all private. However - I never really thought of Pepperdine as a large Ph.d-granting research school, which is what the "National Universities" category is supposed to be. I think of them as a smaller regional university like the rest of the WCC schools. And University of San Francisco is not a big research school either.

Samurai, I think you should do a little reading about usability and the internet. People like to scan quickly and move on. I read your first post somewhere...maybe the second but now I just scroll past. I think your idea is cool but I don't have time to figure it out. You may find that your important comment is getting skipped.............I'm sure whatever you said above is relevant! I think it is perfectly OK if vbsamurai doesn't use proper capitalization or punctuation or normal margins in his posts. That is his right. I can't really comment on the content of what he is saying though, because like many others, I choose not to read them.
