I'm curious to know where everyone else plays - capacity, what's the crowd usually like and what are your ticket prices? Also, who else plays there - or is it separate from basketball?
For us - right now it's 2800 at the high school gym, our crowds have been right around 1500 per match and tickets are $6 I believe. Pan Am capacity is a little over 12,000.
I can't *wait* until we're back in the Pan Am Center for the last 2 games of the year.

Haas Pavilion, Berkeley, California. Capacity 11,800. $10 general admission. Crowds have been from 500-1,000 so far, but I'd expect at least 1,500 for Stanford. The gym is used for all other indoor sports, including basketball and gymnastics. They may also use it as a big warehouse for finals. I recall taking an introductory (1B) math final at the Harmon Gym (name before they tore it down and rebuilt a new structure) with about three other large classes.

University of TEXAS Women's Volleyball plays in Gregory Gymnasium. A volleyball only structure that was completely renovated in 1998. It holds 4400 and the average attendance this year has been over 1800. And we haven't played Nebraska or A&M at home yet! Those are typically sell outs. Reserved seats are $9 and General Admission is $7. Students get in for free with ID (and have their own section). www.texassports.com/index.php?s=&change_well_id=2&url_article_id=128

Bank of America Arena at Clarence S. "Hec" Edmunson Pavilion
Commonly referred to as "Hec Ed". Some Corporate Neanderthals refer to it as "B O A".
Seats about 10,000. Had 6,200+ for WSU last weekend. Students get in free and have their own section. Typical is about 2600 for PAC-10 games but early season tournament against such powers as North Dakota State (909 attendence) depressed the overall average attendence this year. Having Cal (about 1200 attendence) and Stanford (about 4200) before school starts and having more Thursday night games has not helped either.
General Admission (Upper Bowl) is $6 Adult/ $4 children and Seniors while Reserved Seating is $7 (without chair backs) or $9 (with chair backs). Raised prices $1/seat this year for GA and added reserved seating.
Until McLaughlin era team played in the HecEd North Gym. Seats about 1000. It was, by all accounts, a terrible place to play.
Faciliy is shared with Basketball (both Men's and Women's). Gymnastics is listed as using HecEd, but I don't know if that is the main floor or the North Gym.
Interesting tidbit: when originally built in 1927, HecEd had a dirt floor. That was several renovations ago.

Wisconsin plays at the UW Field House, the old basketball arena at the end of Camp Randall Stadium. Capacity is 10,500; teams got in free on sunday, so there was a crowd of over 7,000 and people in the upper deck. Strange air currents at times and sometimes iffy climate control, but the rectangular layout of the building gets you close to the action. It is also loud; I don't know how Wisconsin was never really good in basketball there for so long. Admission is five dollars for adults and two dollars for kids and students. Reserved seats on the sides of the court must be bought in advance, but I actually prefer the end zone to be behind the plays as they develop. The team only shares it with wrestling, so the place is set up for volleyball, which is a nice advantage.

U of MN - The Sports Pavilion. Capacity is 5,700 and is used for women's volleyball in the fall and wrestling and gymnastics in the winter. Reserved seats are $10 with GA between $4 and $8. Most seats are along the sides with some end seating.
The school made the Pav more volleyball friendly (incorporated the court right on the hardwood floor vs. Sportcourt) about 5 years ago when WBB moved to Williams Arena. We have one match per year at Williams Arena (capacity around 14,000). While I look forward to the days when we need to use Williams due to increased crowds, I like the Pav as it is a cozier enviroment and fans are closer to the players.
Our attendance average this year for all home matches has been 4,088 which includes our Williams crowd this past Saturday of 8,377.

I haven't been out for a while, but I play at the Purdue co-rec. 10 courts total, but usually 8 or so are dedicated to basketball. Doesn't cost students anything to get in, but faculty have to pay something like $5 a shot, or $50 a semester. I borrowed my wife's ID when she was a student.
You can stand along the wall to watch, although most of the times, you are just waiting to get onto a court.

And, I might add, there's not a better spectator sport than watching those wrasslers haul off on some poor unsuspecting gymnast, who, not seconds before, was prancing around in her leotard on a balance beam. Good times.

I HATE it when I laugh at your posts even though I tell myself not to. And to add insult to injury - I laughed out loud.

I play at Alki Beach. Free admission. attendance a few thousand, find a spot on the beach or sidewalk. concessions are across the street. transportation can be rented at a bike shop that specializes in street cruisers or bring your own fruit boots (a.k.a. rollerblades).

We just had this thread a few weeks ago.
Florida Gators play in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center aka The O'Dome aka The House Of Horrors (although the name House Of Horrors is only used for basketball season). The official site says it holds 12,000 but there have been basketball crowds larger than that.

The Hoosiers play in the University Gym, which is basically an.... well..... old gym. They did just put down a brand new volleyball wood floor this summer, after years of SportCourt.
The gym claims to hold 2500 people, but it's probaby closer to something like 1750. The largest crowd that has ever seen an IU volleyball match was 1,362, against Ohio State earlier this season. Yeah. I know.

Rats, I should have gone this year then to see it. That old sportcourt floor just made the whole place look weird, I thought What was the attendance for the Purdue match? When I was there 2 years ago, I think it was something like 1100, but 400 were Purdue people
