After knocking an impressive .500 hitting percentage last week against UC Davis and Pacific, Long Beach State's Alexis Crimes grabbed her second Big West Volleyball Player of the Week honor of the season, for the week ending Oct. 16. She earned her first accolade on Sept. 11.
Crimes committed just one error all weekend as the 49ers improved to 4-1 in Big West play and 14-4 overall with sweeps over both UC Davis and Pacific. The six-foot-three middle blocker was error-free against UC Davis for a .474 clip, while adding three blocks. The following night against Pacific, Crimes blasted a .526 hitting percentage and added two digs and two blocks.
For the week, the Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., native combined for three digs and five total blocks with a .500 hitting percentage.
Long Beach State carries a four-match win streak into this weeks action where they travel to Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside. The 49ers face the Titans on Friday night, followed by a Saturday-night matchup with the Highlanders. Both contests are slated for 7:00 p.m.
