It was K-State that Mizzou beat. A win is a win but a 5 game match over a 1-9 (conference record) team has to raise a few eyebrows.

You're trying to say that Kansas didn't play two matches tonight?

What happened to KSU? I know the Big 12 is really balanced except for Nebraska at the top, but they used to be top 25 every year. Also, I think it is clear that OU can play; I thought they were good scrappy after seeing the video of them playing Wisconsin, and they have shown that to be the case. I am glad to see that Iowa State won; I want Christy to get her team into the NCAAs. I know Bearwatch will be bummed, but Baylor is pretty young and will get better.

Ummm..
Their head coach left for parts unknown Seatlle?
It seems like they've been on a slide since he left, albeit somewhat of a slow slide at first.

Thank you for the announcement lilred. This is indeed a special occasion. I will forever remember this day, 10-22-06, as the day the Big 12 scored.

Poor Baylor OU looks to be for real, even in the loss. When Nebraska visits Norman, that should be a great match. stop the presses, Texas had 17 blocks. That's like their season total.

I think Cook made a comment on this last year on one of the Volleyball Shows. He thought part of the reason, might be that KSU started moving toward more players international players (relatively speaking) Much of KSU lineup was midwestern in flavor under Jim. Which is if you noticed is exactly what he is doing up in the Northwest. I think in this sport its always best to build up your program locally, to generate interest.

What stands out most is that somewhere in the last month Destinee Hooker has been learning to block. She had 3 solos and 2 assists today. Yes she still doesn't penetrate enough and gets used a lot, but there's an obvious improvement since the AVCA showcase. Anyone remember this play from wednesday night? I wonder who is that poor left-handed girl getting stuffed....

I do remember that play.....I also remember this: Austin, Texas – Sarah Pavan totaled a team-high 22 kills, including six in the decisive fifth game, as No. 1 Nebraska overcame a 2-1 deficit to top No. 9 Texas, 27-30, 30-22, 22-30, 30-22, 15-13 Wednesday night at Gregory Gymnasium

Why were they using a volleyball with Blue and Gray panels?

Why were they using a volleyball with Blue and Gray panels? That's what Florida used last year. This year, they have an orange and blue one. Much better.
