Obviously at this point in the season, if BYU doesn't win MPSF Tournament, they'll get the at large bid. However, should they win the MPSF, which team gets the at large bid?

Lewis.
The Champ should always have the right to be defeated ON COURT.

The only way BYU would lose the At Large Bid is "if" they lost in the first round. Again, the way the season has gone . . . it could happen. Bookumdanoaloha

I agree with Bookum, the MPSF tounry will have a lot to do with it. That's why these last few matches are so important, teams are vying for better seeding to ry to avoid an early round loss.
That being said I like LBSU as the at large team if BYU wins pending atleast a semi final appearance. However if a team such as UCLA or my warriors were to get to the MPSF champonship and finish the season strong, I would have a hard time saying they don't deserve it. Both UCLA and UH have spent time at #1 this year and Hawai'i is having a good weekend vs LBSU.
We'll see though, because I do not think BYU is immune to an upset.
The end of every regular season, right before tournement time is why I really love the MPSF, and it is the elite conference in the NCAA. There are usually (this year being no exception) 4-5 teams with realistic chances of winning the MPSF.

The at large bid will most likely go to the team that gets 2nd in the MPSF tourny... obviously Lewis does not deserve to make the tournament this year unless they somehow manage to win their conference tournament.

I think it takes more than a 1st round loss in the conference tourney for BYU not to get the at-large. They would have to get spanked by UCLA twice and then lose in the 1st round to not get it. And that game will be at the Smith Fieldhouse. That is assuming they win out their USC games. Even if they split w/ UCLA and lose 1st round they would still probably get it.
They would basically have to self-destruct to lose it. Especially after already beating the 2nd ranked team (LBSU) twice on the road and being up 3 games over them--the #2 team in the conference. BYU would have to lose their last 4 to lose the league title.
Also, they could clinch at least a share of the league title tonight w/ a UH win. Of course, as we have learned this year, anything can happen on any given night. Another thing I've learned though is that the law of averages usually comes through in the end.

BYU is out unless they win.
1. Nobody wants another vacated title. BYU has this exposure. VB doesn't need another blackeye. 2. BYU is the least liked team on a national basis. 3. IMO the selection committee is hard on BYU.

The thing is nothing has come out on BYU, just some internet rumors. If they win a frist round game, especially if they win 3 of the next 4 matches in their MPSF schedule, it would do more harm to the sport to leave them out because they would lose credibility. They have been #1 longer than any team in the country down the stretch, are 3 games ahead in the conference schedule. That would be worse than leaving Georgia Tech out of the tourney because they didn't reach the finals of the ACC tournament.

isn't it usually that as long as the number one seed wins the first round of the mpsf they will probably get the at-large? i don't know what BYU's record will be against the other teams trying to get the at-large (like from another conference) but you would have to say that strength of schedule will come in to play and BYU will probably have the advantage plus the ranking.
