Wow, Penn State almost fell to 4th.
That's all I'm going to say...

What exactly did San Diego do to jump from 18th to 15th?

I know the swept Long Beach, but how does Cal Poly not drop after ther loss to Irvine?

And Cal dropped two places without losing! That's very unusual for an AVCA poll. It's as though this week's results made the voters rethink some things.

What exactly did San Diego do to jump from 18th to 15th? Have no idea. I'm still wondering how Santa Clara manages to stay in the top 25. They barely squeaked by St Mary's at home, and they gain a spot.

Why did Hawaii drop? What did San Diego do that was so great?

Look at the points, people. Hawaii dropped but GAINED points. Just for example. And that's all I'm saying.

Why did Hawaii drop? What did San Diego do that was so great? They beat the #5 team in the WCC (St Mary's) 3-1 and swept the #6 team (San Francisco) - both at home. I haven't figure out this thing yet, but maybe, just maybe some coaches use a combination of a blindfold and dart board.

Good to see Oregon get what they deserve finally.

Missouri lost to Baylor -- there they go (although not very far). BYU lost to Utah. That's how San Diego moved up. But that's all I'm saying. Here's what I like: Oklahoma's finally ahead of Missouri. Cal is being adjusted, slightly (although still 11 spots ahead of Oregon). Oregon's in the poll. St Johns is almost in the poll. I'd switch out OSU and Missouri for St Johns and LBSU and they at least have the right 25 teams. Louisville should be closer to the top 25. That's all. I'm done.

In other words -- as I'm sure someone wiser than me has pointed out -- it has taken the AVCA voters half the season to get there, but they've finally come up with a poll that makes some sense.

Well, the 6th-place Pac-10 team is still ranked above the 5th-place Pac-10 team. But they're moving in the right direction -- and hey, a Pac-10 whine isn't going to get much sympathy here, is it?
