Now Herbert.....what could possibly be illegal about watching a practice as a spectator??? MMm? Where was the practice? I'm sure that Nebraska didn't travel to California to practice... how did she get there?

Well...I assume she flew. Wears lots of plaid don't she. Who paid for her to fly? Since it wouldn't have been on of her 4 unofficial visits it would likely be her parents or herself that paid for the trip. It would be bad if someone affiliated with one of the schools she visits unofficially to pay for her trip on such visits. Do you know if she actually visited the 5 teams mentioned earlier as being on her list? If she did you'd have to ask the same question about one of those visits.

How did Cook-ie Monster get all these players? One must admit, they are fairly "stacked."

I'm sure her UCLA visit would have costed her parents a bundle... *sarcasm* As I said in my previous post she isn't required to commit to a team that she's officially visited and she can still visit other teams at her own expense. LBSU would be no more expensive for her to visit than UCLA or USC. Unofficial visits are more restrictive though in regards to the types of things that can be provided by the coaches / staff / players of the team being visited for the recruit. "Unofficial VISTA: Any visit by you and your parents to a college campus paid for by you or your parents. The only expense you may receive from the college is three complimentary admissions to a home athletics contest. You may make as many unofficial visits as you like and may take those visits at any time. The only time you cannot talk with a coach during an unofficial visit is during a dead period." "Official visit. Any visit to a college campus by you and your parents paid for by the college. The college may pay the following expenses: • Your transportation to and from the college; • Room and meals (three per day) while you are visiting the college; and • Reasonable entertainment expenses, including three complimentary admissions to a home athletics contest. • Before a college may invite you on an official visit, you will have to provide the college with a copy of your high school transcript (Division I only) and SAT, ACT or PLAN score." It turns out that it appears there is a max of 5 official visits now anyhow so that would explain the 5 teams on her list as mentioned earlier. I wonder if she's made unoffical visits to teams other than as mentioned to watch Nebraska practice(s). It will be interesting to find out which team she actually decides to commit to in a week or two.

When are the "dead periods?"
Seriously though, I hate the rules, she should be able to go to all the schools she wants to.
It makes you wonder though, why didn't she choose to go to Florida instead of Nebraska on an official visit?

It sounds like her Nebraska visit is an unofficial visit if Washington, Texas, Hawaii, USC and UCLA were all official visits.
Florida would have to be another unofficial visit if she has time.
She can go to all the schools she wants to, they just have to be unofficial visits if she wants to visit more than 5 schools.
The NCAA rules in general though are overly "goofy" and made so at least in part because of the various recruiting violations and scandals of the "big sports" (men's football and basketball.)

now I really don't see her going to Texas because they will be stacked next year with Darium leaving and Juliann Faucette (6'2 OH) will be coming in. Jerritt will run a modified 6-2 next year. Klineman will be OH1. Faucette will be OH2. Engle hits right side in front row and sets from back row, Moriarty sets from the back and comes out in the front for Hooker to play right side, with senior Jen Christian to fill in when any of the non-middles are struggling. Texas goes undefeated and wins the national title a la USC 2002/2003.
