Ball State still has a legitimate good chance to win the regular season. If both Ball State and IPFW win out (essentially both beating Ohio State), and Lewis loses just one match to either Ohio State or Loyola, then the title goes to Ball State. The Cardinals would be in a two-way tie with IPFW, and they defeated the Mastadons in both meetings this year. This is one scenario IPFW can win out and not win the title.

I believe after the 2002 season the MIVA changed the rule about how to name the conference tournament host. A team has to win the conference regular season title to host the tournament, but still has to put a bid into the conference prior to the start of that season.
I heard that IPFW didn’t put in a bid to the conference to host the conference tournament, so if that is true that means if IPFW wins the regular season they won’t host? Did anyone else hear about that? It could be fact or schiznit….

In the MIVA I believe the tournament scenario is the top 4 teams from the regular season host a quarter final round, and then the highest remaining seed after that hosts the semis and finals.
Based on results and remaining schedule the MIVA regular season is going to be determined on OSU's home floor. I believe OSU and IPFW are the 2 teams that control their own destiny, everybody else has to win out and get help. This weekends matchups of IP, OSU and Lewis will settle things for 2 of those 3 teams as far as still being alive for the 1 seed.
OSU clearly has the toughest remaining schedule, but are playing at home. Very tight race and a toss up in my opinion right now.

Sponge was right in his point about BS, if they win out and Lewis looses a match, they are it.

There is another possible situation. A five way tie between Ohio State, IPFW, Ball State, Lewis, and Loyola. If Ohio State beats IP and Ball state but loses to Lewis, then the March 14 match between Lewis and Loyola will have huge implications. Lewis would clinch with a win or an unprecedented five way tie would occur...

benwhipdrofn - Glad to see you made it to the Flyers game, and that you brought your gang with you. If they ever act up again in the future, you can always take them up to the weight training room and you still can watch the game through the 2nd floor glass window while they pump themselves up. The Flyers are presently on a roll and with the events and adversity since December that they have been confronted with, may just make them a team of destiny. After all, they have already been dubbed "the little school that could"! The meeting with OSU this Friday will certainly be a good one. BTW, I think Solar is spelled Soler. Well, I like to spell it Solar, because Jeff is just a little ray of sunshine on the Lewis court ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) ) haha, and ok. rookie, do I at least know who you are......because well my kids were being "angels" there haha, but come on, fork over the facts.....who are you? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png)

And we thought the MPSF final standings were the only ones up in the air!
What is up with this year?

Ya know what, I'm not predicting anything the way this season has gone! ;D
IPFW, Lewis and Ball State all beat Ohio State earlier but then Ohio State beat Loyola twice. The same Loyola that beat IPFW, Lewis and Ball State. So who the heck knows!
