Do we think she's going to be an outside hitter for the Gophers? Can she back-up set?

Who? Cowles?
Not a setter -- and at 5'9" probably not a starting OH, not with the team's depth. But you get players like her and it just helps the team overall. Like Axel, Peniata, Tan, Reinhart...

Cowles will be a primary passer for the Gophers.

I agree, from the few times I've seen Cowles play she has great ball control.

It was nice to see her get that honor, esp. with Gibbs and Dieter in the mix. Obviously she got credit for leading her team to much better seasons.
I love DS like her -- those who were all-around players in HS but have great ball control too. I think that makes them much stronger. Would be nice to see if she could challenge Tan for libero next year.
And the print version has a great pic of the first team.

And the print version has a great pic of the first team. Unfortunately, it was black/white. It has been in color in the past years. And on the back page. Hopefully, the papers will give some attention to the tourney this year.

Who picks these All-Metros? Weren't these the same doofs who couldn't give a rat's ass about volleyball coverage?

They asked Ruffda and Gorf. Although they first asked me. Then eliminated my choices from consideration. As a result, a pretty good selection!

The All-State team is coaches. I believe the All-Metro is picked by the "doofs" at the Strib, as Woofy said -- although they, we would hope, consult with the coaches. And me. Not Gorf.

We're not the same person anymore?
When did that happen?
