Impressive tourney...lots learned.
Springfield would beat quite a few DI teams....the are for real. Lost to PSU in 4 on Friday night. Greg Lardo and Spri kid on teh outsides were very tough to stop.
PSU brought their blocks down and then controlled the match after losing the first game 36-34.
Sat. Springfield over USC (horrible team) in 4
BSU over PSU in 4 very tight games BSU over Sprinfiled in 3 good games PSU Spanked USC in 3 BSU spanked USC in 3.
Ball State is better than last years team and really really covers the floor. WOW the MIVA will be the strongest league this year....look for the at large bid to go to BSU, LEWS, IPFW, LOYOLA, and even OSU to push. All are veteran teams
PSU was emotionally inconsistent and had to rely on back up setter Dan O'Dell as their Starter Matthews has Mono. O'dell played like a Freshmen but also showed some real signs of maturity.
Springfiled IS for real just ask the other coaches. Charlie Sulivan has his team playing at veery high level.
USC is big slow and unathletic.. ...(Duscharmeis the exception)...hopefully these two Brazilians coming in in May will change that. What a dissapointment both Pepp and USC were this year on the East Coast swings....no ball control.

Are you saying the MIVA will be stronger than the MPSF? IF you are, I hope you get your brain checked.
And...there is no way the at-large bid will go to a non-MPSF team. Keep dreamin kiddo.

I agree, The MPSF is much stronger on a year in, year out consistant basis. There is no way the at large bid will go to any team east of Provo. Midwest teams have a tendency to start strong and finish poorly, just wait and see.-

It's happened before where the bid went outside of the West.
Look we can argue all we want...I 'm just saying that this is one of the strongest years for the MIVA and the top 5 teams from can and might beat most every team in the nation....not all the time...but can.
Just be careful and do not take these teams lightly. They are fast and loaded with very experienced players that's all.

The last time I remember the bid going east was when IPFW got it, and they were hosting the final four. I think they were ranked around #7 at the time. I think it was #2 Stanford who got the shaft, after losing a tight one to #1 UCLA. I don't think anyone argued the only reason they got it was because they were hosting.
