I had the pleasure of watching the Waves finally compete and while 8 of their losses come at the hands of ranked opponents this team is better then their 11-10 record. Holy Moly the tallest team in the NCAA. How exciting for Matthies and her program. I can't wait to see them play in the next few years. The setter is not the great, but with those players who cares! WOW!
Any thoughts about the Waves?

Totally agree with beachman....The coach stinks and should have been fired years ago. They will never live up to their true potential year in and year out due to the lousy coach. I like the players on the team but not the coach....Sure wish Marv could do double duty!

Regardless of how they may or may not stink, Pepperdine is now 8-3 in the WCC and just knocked off San Diego. I'm not sure how the NCAA selection committee will handle them. They're now 12-10 overall. If they win out (save UCLA) they'll be 16-11 and probably in the top 30 RPI (blunt tool I know).

Woohooo!!! Go Waves! That's a pretty big accomplishment. Two ranked teams after losing to eight. There's still more season coming up. Regardless of how they may or may not stink, Pepperdine is now 8-3 in the WCC and just knocked off San Diego. I'm not sure how the NCAA selection committee will handle them. Didn't they do this last year too? Struggle with a difficult non-conference schedule then pick up steam in conference play and pick off two ranked teams in the NCAA tournament?
Maybe the team played too tough a non-conference schedule this year with so much youth which is now starting to figure out the college game. Could they be a dark horse to go deep in the tournament again?
Honestly, how many teams would be excited about seeing the Waves as thier first round opponent in the tournament?

Riiiiight. Sure. Fiers is really bad. Ummmm, not. I love watching Kiah play. She's full of youthful enthusiasm, and is quick to the ball, setting all kinds of interesting passes very well. Nice kid, too. The setter is not the great, but with those players who cares! WOW! Any thoughts about the Waves?

I didn't say the players stink.... the coach stinks....They would have done much better this season with a coach like Jon Stevenson from Cal Poly....Time to put her out to pasture.

No way the NCAA will exclude them UNLESS they go 1-4 the remainder of the season and end up ineligible due to their overall losing record.
