Hey Ruffda, wasn't it you who told me about some attitudes that you weren't impressed with last season at a tournament?

hmm...where is VBSID? Isn't he or she with PSU? Even if VBSID is lurking, she isn't going to spill the beans of the inner workings of the team. She would get in real trouble with Russ Rose, considering that everyone knows who she is.

It is disturbing to see a college coach actually telling the truth. Russ, saying what every other coach is thinking.

It was the truth. Often in women's progrrams the coach tries to coddle and comfort the emotions of the team members. Really refreshing to see a coach lay it on the line and say it like it is.

To many it is no surprise that there are attitude and chemistry problems at PSU. It was quietly predicted.

Dealing with attitude problems on a volleyball team, or with parents, is a far bigger challenge than teaching the X's and O's. I've never had much success in that area and it's my opinion that most coaches haven't either. The trick is to try to avoid attitude-ridden players and people, but that's not easy either, as virtually everyone is on their best behaviour during tryouts or interviews. It's usually only after they're in your system for a while that you even realize that you have them. By then, the diagnosis can be fatal.

Who is Russ referring to?? the freshman?? good question than there's the injuries to worry about sounds like Russ has a full plate! That's what happens when you have the cream of the crop on one court!

It sounds like he's talking about performance, so I doubt if the freshmen are his main concern. I have no inside knowledge whatsoever, but I'd look to the players whose stats are way down (Harmotto, Fawcett) and the ones who aren't playing as much as they undoubtedly think they should (Price) for attitude problems.
