BTW - doesn't mano a mano literally mean "hand to hand" as in a fistfight?

Something like that. I usually consider it as "one on one"

He cheats. I still haven't figured out how.
Seriously, though, he makes the safe picks AND seems to know when an "upset" is in the making. That is difficult to maintain over the course of a season. You'd actually think he knows what he's doing...

I can tell you a little bit about Publius. 9 of that 10 game difference came in weeks 4 and 5. Since then, as you can see, it has been essentially even between Publius and Pablo (Publius +1). However, in that same time, the next best has been basically a -4, so Publius has still done better in that stretch than the other pickers.
I remember back in the old days of pick the winners on Rich Kern, before Pablo became a household name, that there wasn't anyone who could outpick Pablo over more than a two week period, and there were only 1 or two who could keep up with Pablo over two weeks. I think having Pablo accessible has actually made the pick the winners more competitive because the goal is to find the upsets, as opposed to picking based solely on wins and losses.

Something like that. I usually consider it as "one on one" I'm thinking of the "Dos Manos" burritos at Baja Fresh, which are supposedly so big that they have to be held with two hands.

As I told Alix when we chatted last week , I have to give credit where credit is due: receiving my degree from Stanford.

Isn't this like the third year in a row that publius has come out on top? I think he should be banded from the contest next year just to make it fair for everyone else. . . . but still require him to run it and do all the work that he does every week.
