Woah O&U, you might understand the story a bit better if you are sober. Anyway, there are a couple Stanford boosters who post here at VT. These guys have been part of the message board from the old VB24/7 site. Hawai'i was undefeated in 2002 and as you all know, K5 televises every Wahine home match. One day in early November 2002 (The Wahine were still undefeated), I get a request from this Stanford booster ( I didn't know this particular person was a booster at the time) for a copy of all televised Wahine matches up to that point that I might have had. This particular person stated that they were a Wahine fan living in Northern California who wanted to follow the team, and that he/she missed watching the Kim and Lily show. I would be compensated for my efforts in sending the copies of the matches I had, financially of course but other carrots were dangled in front of my face as well. I will continue at a later point because I get mad when I think about how I might have cost the Wahine the 2002 National title. Btw, did any of you know that Wolfgang is a Stanford booster? oops For the record, tisn't I. But I see where you are going: whoever got the tapes from you distributed them as scouting tools to the team Hawaii lost to. Very disingenuous, at best, but don't take it out on the Stanford Volleyball program when it was an individual booster perpetrating the dirty deed. There is too much guilt by association and unfounded hatred already in this world, dear BIK!

I want to know how a school with all that money, is too cheap to buy the volleyball team their own floor? All those lines are ugly as sin, it's really pathetic. That's why I hate Stanford Hey, it costs a lot of money for those recruiting trips back to Florida and to meet with Foluke and Janet and the others. ;D However, before this season started, JohnDunning did say that getting their own floor was the next $$ priority.

Do I have time to make some popcorn and grab a large bottle of water before you continue your story BiK? Yes, and it would be worth your while to stir in some white truffle oil (that's Italian not French) before you open your Pelligrino (not Perrier).

It can't be Jewel either because she told me she was a UCLA fan.

Hey, if Florida can go all the way to California and Colorado to get recruits and have their own floor, then Stanford can too. I figured after they redid Maples that they would've given them their own floor. Sadly, I'm watching Stanford basketball last night against Northwestern and I see volleyball lines all over the court. Very sad to see.

I believe Jewel has switched allegiance over to the Cardinal now that Ms Klineman committed.

I guess "lost" is not the right word. Perhaps "perplexed" that anyone would come to such a conclusion. Such a behavior as you described is inconsistent with Jewel's character. Get with the program, publius.

Very sad to see. It's a multipurpose facility. I guess they could bring a Sport Court, although I don't think most players would like it. It was built for revenue sports (i.e. men's basketball), so I'd never expect that they would do anything other than vinyl tape on hardwood for volleyball. Do you expect that they would do what was done at the Staples Center in L.A.? They have three complete wood floors. One for the Lakers, one for the Clippers, and a generic one for other basketball events. Each floor is laid on top of the ice surface and an insulating layer. Of course removable flooring isn't cheap, and the personnel to swap floors isn't cheap. I'm pretty sure the hardwood floor at Maples is fixed.

I have seen the blackguard tactics of the Stanford Volleyball program with mine old two eyes. For the record, it is not Hwy101, whom I consider a friend and an honest person, neither is it my legalese friend whom I have had the pleasure of sending Wahine tapes to. This particular person has their roots deeply ingrained in Stanford Volleyball. The shamelessness of Stanford Volleyball knows no bounds. Btw, I was just kidding about Wolfgang. The rest is no joke though.

Get with the program, publius. Methinks I will stay with The Program... except for this afternoon. Time to head out for the sunny tailgate before the 1 p.m. "seniors' day" match at Leavy against the Toreros.

Men's and women's basketball, volleyball and gymnastics all use that portion of the arena. Volleyball has always had their own court, separate from the basketball court. They change it out everytime they play. Stanford isn't hard up for cash, they could do it.
