Everything is set:
#9 Louisiana Tech vs. #8 Fresno State
#9LTU/#8FSU vs. #1 Hawaii
#5 San Jose State vs. #4 Nevada
#3 Idaho vs. #6 Utah State
#7 Boise State vs. #2 New Mexico State
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Damn, Hawaii gets Nevada in the semis.... CRAP!! I remember how much trouble the Wolfpack gave the Wahine last season. Hernandez came alive that night and Johnson/Salavea did a great job.
I hope Idaho can play the way they did against Nevada last week and upset the Aggies...

I hope both Hawaii and New Mexico State make the WAC tourney final. Hawaii NEEDS matches against ranked opponents, for both SOS and for true preparation for the NCAA tourney.

San Jose beat them at there last meeting in 3 straight games. And SJS took a game off Hawaii, something Nevada couldnt.

Hawai'i gets the higher seed but the tougher opponent in round 2, whether it be San Jose or Nevada. Hawai'i just needs to focus and cut down on the errors, especially on serve recieve. If they do that, it'll be lights out for everybody else, including the Aggies.

I'm sure both San Jose State and Nevada are thinking, "Crap! We got Hawaii in the semis!"

Fresno State won't roll over and they were very inexperienced at the beginning of the year, so I think they are better than a #8 seed. However, I am glad Hawaii avoids Idaho. I would rather Hawaii play Nevada or San Jose. I hate when teams play someone a week before the tournament. NMSU won't have an easy time with Idaho. Idaho played NMSU really close at Idaho, so it shouldn't be an easy match. But NMSU should get through their matches and face Hawaii in the finals.

I think SJSU will beat Nevada. Nevada is really struggling as they lost to Boise State.

Hawaii, nor New Mexico State now, have anything to gain from this tournament. They are both going to the NCAA tournament regardless of the outcome of this WAC tournament. However, they have lots to lose if they are defeated by any of the other WAC teams. Poor seedings and not being able to host the earlier rounds of the tournament are just part of the consequences should either ranked team lose to one of the WAC "cellar dwellers". Isn't that the reason the SEC elimnated their postseason tournament? I think Hawaii would be better off WITHOUT the WAC Tournament that way they can play ranked teams during the Thanksgiving Weekend that'll better prepare the Wahine for the NCAA Tournament. That's just my opinion. Go Wahine!

For the conference as a whole, though, I think it gives other teams that may be "on the bubble" a chance to improve their chances of making the NCAA's if they can pull off an upset. Anyway, I'm leaving for the airport in an hour for the flight over the big pond. WAC Tournament, here I come

SO WHY DOES THE WAC HAVE A POST SEASON TOURNAMENT? DO YOU ALL PREFER IT? IS IT JUST ANOTHER WAY TO MAKE MONEY? DOES IT EVEN COVER COSTS? PERSONALLY I SEE NO ADVANTAGES TO IT AT ALL....VERY GLAD THAT THE BIG WEST DID AWAY WITH THEIRS YEARS AGO!

PERSONALLY I SEE NO ADVANTAGES TO IT AT ALL....VERY GLAD THAT THE BIG WEST DID AWAY WITH THEIRS YEARS AGO! Many of us have said that we don't like the tourney because it does nothing for Hawai'i. If anything, it hurts Hawai'i. I would like to see them do away with the tourney but it's not going to happen. The WAC tourney may be bad for Hawai'i but it's good for the WAC conference. For most of the WAC teams, this is their post season. It gives them something to look forward to, and there is always the chance (however slight it may be) that Hawai'i falters and another WAC team gets the automatic bid.

I think the chance of Hawaii faltering is a little less slight than in past years, but NMSU would probably be the beneficiary, and I am guessing they are in anyway. I still think the top seed will end up winning it, but there will probably be a couple of game losses that will cause discussion here.

The WAC Commissioner wants WAC Tournaments for as many sports as possible.
As for bubble teams in the WAC, they may actually fare better playing another bubble team, or a lower ranked team instead of the WAC Tournament. This may raise their SOS instead of losing in the first round to Hawaii or NMSU.
