wow, that's 3 this season for both Nana and Christal, and if Kaczor has another good weekend, she could be a third player to win 3 in one season.

Well take solace that it is the coaches who know who really runs the show in Washington and when it comes to voting for Pac-10 Player of the Year, I'll bet that the coaches will pick Thompson over Morrison.

If Morrison tees off against Stanford & Cal this weekend, she'll be a shoe-in for her 4th Pac 10's POW.

I believe POW is picked by the Pac 10's office while the POY awards are done are the coaches. As Thompson broke the career assist record, I'm sure the coaches will weigh that heavily in their voting.

I would expect the PotW to be from the winning team in the UW-Stanford match, assuming there are no upsets on Saturday (ie. UW beats Cal and SU beats WSU). I would not have been surprised to see a UCLA player win it this week since they won the only tough match this week, but the PAC-10 office doesn't tend to give the award to a team playing only one match that week. Christal had a great weekend and set a PR for kills.

as great as christal is ,, it is court that has put the parts of this team together and made them the contender it is. All the naysayers about the new people, well they seem to be doing pertty well right now. Jim will have them peaked for the torney,, as always

I'll echo everyone else: Christal had a spectacular weekend, and deserved this.
I've also been wondering about Courtney. What does a setter have to do to get PotW anyway? I imagine the bar is pretty high; setter is one of those positions where if you're doing things well your teammates get the credit, and you mainly get noticed if you're making mistakes.
Miyashiro's put in some good performances too. I keep wondering if she'll get recognized for it, but then I see Jim's been mentioning her for freshman of the year.
