One of those teams (I think it was Clovis), came to the SLO tournament last year. They had a setter who was incredibly good - he wasn't very big (maybe 5'9" tops). I think he was tournament MVP.

That woulda been Nolan Cane...he's pretty good but I don't think that good. Maybe they had a different setter last year but I don't think so.

I had talked to the coach at that tournament, I guess the setter I was talking about was fairly young (frosh or soph). He had dark hair. All I remember is that his court sense was pretty good for a h.s. setter, and he could really jack the ball out to the leftside on the fast hut with good location and trajectory. He wasn't much of a blocker due to his size, and the rest of his game (serving, defense, etc.) wasn't exceptional. But as far as setting the ball he was pretty good.
I know it was a team from the Central Valley. I'm pretty sure it was Clovis, could have been Clovis West. I know it wasn't Bullard.

Barcelona Bob and sjhaysuess:
The setter is indeed Nolan Kane from Clovis High. per their roster, he is 6'1" and is now a senior.
Well sjhaysuess, Clovis gave you guys a scare in the first game of the Clovis-Clovis West match!

I don't consider a scare to be one game, especially when we won it and the next 2. Although they surprisingly took Buchanan to 4, I highly doubt they will beat any of us in a match this year.

I read it and am tired of all the crap too. Enough is enough, if it all comes back ok, then NCAA will clear Lewis players too, which only sucks because those seniors are done and didn't get a chance to play their last year. If BYU is going down, then so be it, they will go down.
