The USA Youth National Team is playing the Slovenian Youth National Team today in first day action of the MEVZA Youth Championships (Middle European Volleyball Zonal Association) in Izola, Slovenia. They will meet the Czech Republic and Hungary tomorrow and then hopefully see Croatia in the finals.
The USA Select Team lost in Pool B today to Austria (0-3) and will finish pool play against Croatia and Slovakia tomorrow.
The two USA teams are guest teams in this first ever MEVZA Youth Tournament.
We'll eventually have rosters, photos and journals up at bringitusa.com, but as usual are getting a slow start. I'll post the direct address when it is live - hopefully by the end of the day today.

USA1 (Youth Nat'l Team) lost to Slovenia 1-2. The Pool Play round is 3 games no matter what. Only the Pool winner goes to the Finals (there is no bracket for playoffs) so hopefully they get 3-0 wins vs. Czech and Hungary tomorrow and one of them beats Slovenia 3-0 as well

I looked and couldn't find anything about it....one of the most user unfriendly websites that I have ever perused!

Is this info available on the USA Volleyball website? If not, why not? This team has nothing to do with USA Volleyball. Bring It Promotions (BIP) is a private business run by Tim Kelly, an agent for many U. S. professional players.

Go Kanani and Yogi.......................future bright stars for Hawai'i........... i wouldn't be so sure, but judging from one of your mixed breeds, you'll be happy to hear where one of them will shine bright.

The USA Volleyball website previously posted the roster for this team. www.usavolleyball.org/VolleyballNews/news.asp?id=1449Just today, USAV posted a player's journal from this tournament (Yogi). www.usavolleyball.org/Media/Yogi12-28-06.asp

I have been asked by USAV to make it clear that this is the "USA Youth Team" and not the actual "USA Youth National Team" (which hasn't been formally chosen yet). In any case they beat Hungary this morning 3-0, and play the Czech Republic in a few hours. Our site is loading slowly, but we do have some photos and the rosters for all teams posted at: www.bringitusa.com/events/3rdNewYearsBash/We should be caught up with O2 forms (from the foriegn teams) and journals by tonight.
