Nice list, but you left off last summer's 18s JO mvp who's back for his senior year. Here's from today's LA Times: "Steve Klosterman of Huntington Beach Marina, considered the No. 1 boys' volleyball prospect in the nation, is scheduled to visit UCLA this weekend. He's down to the Bruins, Pepperdine and Long Beach State."

I'd also add Justin May and Jake Skud. They're all, including Klosterman, on LBC by the way. That's one awesome team.

If your you have an ear with your college coach...you had better get a looksee at this kid out of New York....He is electric. I would put him against anyone right now. Lefty, jumper, absolutely destroys his jump serve and turns on a tight ball like no one I every seen.
I saw him crank a tight pass on the 3' line with power.
It is not a promotion...but rather a wakeup call.
He is one of those kids that you are grwan to watch because he is so dynamic. WOW! What an athelete. He does not disappoint

Well i know Joe Klein but lets be honest with ourselfs....he is not one of the top 20 or 30 players in the nation. So it's cool you guys are trying to promote him but he's not that good.

Considering this years recruiting class....absolutley he is in the top 30. He was an alternate on the Youth Team, twice MVP at East Coast Champioships, Won the Great Lakes Festival (Premire Event) as a 16....the list goes on...his stock has risen as he has gotten stronger....don't forget he just turned 17.
I'm not sure if he is at Beckwith/Acevedo level but he is bordering on becoming a stud player. Skill wise he can match most any player...talent wise he is above most...competitive wise his is top 5. Yeah you heard me. I'm not so sure how long its been since youv'e seen this kid play but man can this kid play.
Whatever we all have our own thoughts....mine is also in accordance with the first poster in that I whoever gets him will get their monoys worth.

Skillwise, Klein is actually way behind the others. His athleticism allows him to compete with the others. As far as being one of the top recruits, athletically, yes. But, let's face it, he's only 6'0". Top 20? With this years class being so weak, sure, he's in the top 20. This class is the weakest in several years. JUst look at this years YNT compared to the 2000 team...they just don't stack up. With a couple exceptions, this class is just a good group of role players. A lot of nice kids, though.

T totally disagree...I have seen this kid play recently...his skill matches any player in that position out there....but I will agree that htis is not the deepest class...yet....I think there are some late bloomers out there and alot of kids with major upside but they are spread out and maybe on weaker teams.
Pepp has supposedly heard verbals fro Parfit and Hulse....this may have pushed Pepps needs elsewhere then a setter.
It will be a waste if Klein doesn't hook on with a top program.

Ok Ok...silly banter. I think he is god enough in comparison to all...you may not. Fine. Hopefully it all works out for the kid....and others who are looking to get noticed.

Klien can turn on the ball like no one ive everseen, he is such an athletic player and has tons of potential just is sorta short. But when you can jump like him and have such a consistent serve who neesd 2 inches?

Joe has become a very good player. He is learning how to get the best out of players around him. Yes he does have tremendous athletic ability, very solid skills, and has an intense desire to compete and win.
He is going in the right direction but as I pointed out to him and others like him.....accomplished nothing yet.
UCI, USC and Mason are hot on him right now.. Things should heat up soon as USC, PSU, BALL STATE will be out our way to play and take a look at him and some other players in the area.
Lots of good players out there in the country.....for me to say that Joe is better than this guy or this guy is irrelevant as the ultimate decision will come from someone else.
Placing players is a exciting but very strenuous process. Patience and tenacity are key for all the boys who will miss on the early signing period.
The setter position is the hardest to place as it really only comes open for teams every 3 to 4 years and more and more teams want players who will step right in. Middle blockers and Outsides you can groom and redshirt if necessary.
Personally I feel Joe is a goldmine....but of course that is slightly biased. But I might add there are some real Legit players up in our neck of the woods that are in that top 50. A couple players from Albany always solid technique players from the Pace group and we will have a very very strong 18's here at Eden.
I wish all you guys out there looking to play the best of luck.
