So, I know last season Megan Hodge, Rachael Holloway, Kori Cooper, Tamari Miyashiro, just to name a few were fab freshman throughout the season.
Besides Klineman, who else is expected to be key this 2007 season?

I think that Marlie Sessions will be a major impact player!

All homerism aside, I think Jenna Hagglund will HAVE to be an impact freshman.

I think Juliann Faucette will have a breakout year. This girl has the goods to be a major go-to player for the Long Horns.

From how high is she being dropped? It makes a difference. Plus, you're assuming she'll bounce, otherwise it may only be an impact.

I have to agree wit u....Juliann Faucette will contend wit Klineman on who will be the national freshmen of the year, but don't leave Jennifer Doris out too. This girl will be the answer to what my Longhorns really need in the middle as far as blocking...... HOOK 'EM HORNS...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its disappointing that many of us will never see the Faucette/Doris freshman combo, because I think they're really going to give a big lift to the already talented Longhorns. Having them alongside Engel, Hooker, and McGee will be lethal...and then Yogi in the backrow next year. I think 2007 FOY will come from Texas in my opinion.

Actually, the incoming class at Texas makes it LESS likely that any one of them will be FOY. Stanford's entire department will be putting all of its considerable weight behind one young lady who is already the frontrunner anyway. Texas will have to split its energies.
I admit I like the idea of a Texas v. Stanford rivalry developing in volleyball, because overall these are the two best Universities in the country.

Can an "s" ever be appended to "impact"?

Did they ever play against each other in high school or club?...

I believe they have played against each other in club and were both on the Junior national team last summer.

I think Stanford will be much more dependent on Klineman to step in and replace the loss of Kristen Richards. She should see more court time from the get go. Faucette will have to challenge Destinee and Jen Christian at OH. One option is to use all three by bringing in Faucette for Moriarty in the front row and have Engle set. This is somewhat of a gamble because you loose Engle's passing and back row attack.

Faucette will start no doubt over Jen, at least that's what I think...But it's not the OH's that makes me wonder, it's the MB's is what I'm curious to how they will do this season....Jen Doris will be an immediate impact the the Longhorns at 6'5 and moves too well for her size, very very good blocking and heavy arm....add a healthy Magee to that...Whoooooo!!!....awesome, can't wait to see them in action......

All homerism aside, I think Jenna Hagglund will HAVE to be an impact freshman. She'll certainly have some big shoes to fill. But I don't want to put pressure on her. In my book, all she HAS to do is earn a starting spot and play well. Anything beyond that is the Huskies' good fortune (and good recruiting).

Christian had a good postseason this year, unlike 2005 when the Texas OHs were shut down by Hawai'i. If she has finally found her stride as an attacker, she and Faucette will be fighting for the OH2 spot all season; otherwise it will come down to whether Faucette is ready to be a primary passer at the college level. The other case is if Jerritt runs a 6-2, look for Christian to take her turn on the right side.
Here's something coincidental: you know how spam messages have randomly generated names and subject headings to fool heuristic filters? Well, one message I received recently was from "Acevedo Christian".
Makes me wonder where spammers get their word banks from.
