I have seen both Dull and Hone play quite a bit. Dull just keeps getting better. She is exceptionally athletic. Her mental game looks like it has also improved. Used to be able to get into her head by blocking her a few times. She is a fierce competitor and I would expect to see her see the floor quickly as a Buckeye. Hone is my favorite setter to watch in this area. She absolutely confounds blockers with her ability to disguise her sets. She is very strong and has a wicked second ball attack.

Why is Penn State? That's too deep for me. Ruffda, your number of posts suggest that you're here so allow me to fill you in. A thread title such as this, which appears to make no sense (even as the final Jeopardy answer that someone ingeniously proposed), is best treated like a clue in a cryptic crossword: it must be unscrambled to make sense of it. There are various possibilities but my solution for "Why is Penn State" is "Pass net: they win." Thus the poster is subtly implying that setting isn't Penn State's real problem -- that crisp passes to the net will lead to victory and no more wondering "why" in Happy Valley.

Well, Chelsea Noble will have to sit out a year per NCAA rules. That is what my source told me! And it looks like it is gonna be Penn State. Why does she have to sit a year? Is this her second transfer?

After digging a bit and talking with a couple of people close to the source it sounds like it is really between OSU and PSU. PSU wanted Chelsea to committ to them before going on visits to Purdue & Ohio State. There was a lot of pressure for her to say yes to Penn State before she even visited their campus. Also from my sources Purdue wanted her as a utility player -set some/Libero some & Ohio State recruited her for a Libero/DS position not as a setter. The only problem with all this is she has NOT been released by Tennessee to compete next fall. It looks as though she will have to sit out a year then have a couple of years left. Lets see how it all falls into place.

I think it's funny that Coach Patrick supposedly doesn't want to release Noble from UT but he sure is willing to accept transfers who HAVE been released from their previous schools.
Double standard??

No release from the school, you have to sit out a year. That means you left you on terms that are not amicable to both parties.

Will Penn State be going after any other transfers out there or stick to recruiting for 2008 and beyond? Are there any other setters/Liberos out there looking to transfer?
