The mom of a very highly successful beach player told me she earns a TON of money playing indoors in Spain that she won't probably give up the indoor game yet.

Maybe playing indoors doesn't pay her enough than what beach could.... It is very possible that it could be the other way around... At this point in her beach career, I would bet the farm that sIsam is right! ;D

Yeah, but how much will playing the Olympics for the USA NT earn her, relative to her European indoor career and a potential beach career...?

It may not earn her $$$ on the same level as the others; but playing on an olympic team has to add to her reputation at one of the best players in the U.S. and (I'm guessing) will raise her stock as an int'l indoor & beach player.

Logan doesn't need to raise her stock. She's a proven player in her mid-twenties. If she rejoins the National Team, it'll be because she wants to help them qualify for the Olympics and medal.

What do you mean - she's a proven player? She was a good college player, who did not perform well at the Olympics - in my opinion she has still to prove herself on the international stage. The AVP side-show doesn't count - until the Russians, Cubans, Italians, Dominicans, etc. start to take it seriously. Even the Brits have targeted beach volleyball as a "soft" sport that they can medal in... Not really sure I agree with you here on not proven internationally. She has done quite well professionally at all places she has played. And in 2004 led the US to gold at the World Grand Prix picking up MVP and Best Server awards. I would think she has proven herself quite well internationally. You obviously have not been following international volleyball. As "Say who" mentioned, she has received MVP of the World Grand Prix right before the Olympics.... where virtually every great volleyball player in the world was participating. In most of her international competitions, she is repeatedly in the top 10 in Scoring, Serving, Receiving, blocking.... almost every category but assits. I think most would put her in the top 5 to 10 best left side hitters in the world right now with her all around game. She doesn't need to prove herself to anyone anymore... in terms of her abilities.

But she is a veteran at the international level. Besides playing in two Olympics and winning medals at major international competitions, she's competed in the top Pro Leagues for years now. Everyone knows about her. That Logan has to "prove" herself by playing great in another Olympics implies that she should have selfish intentions. My opinion is that she has nothing to prove, and that if she rejoins the NT it will be for the right reasons - she wants to see her country do well.

So what are the odds that Logan Tom 2007 - aka Klineman - is reading this website and thinking, "God, that USA Olympic indoor crowd is pathetic and full of drama; I'm ditching this for the beach as soon as I get my Stanford degree in advanced phospholipid aquatic dynamics".

This ticks me off. The great Logan Tom can try out like every other player in the universe. This is why players like Tom get an inflated opinion of themselves is because of so many fans like many of you gush all over themselves to sing her praises. . If she wants to play for her country and be a "team," player then she can try out. If she wants to be the star than do everyone a favor and stick with the beach. Can you say PRIMA DONA !!

If you actually knew anything about volleyball, you would know that she has tried out. It's called experience. 2 previous Olympics, professionally overseas. The reason other players tryout is because the National Team staff needs to see what they can do. Someone like Tom doesn't tryout because they know what she can do.

I don't give a crap if they are the Queen of England. The best player deserves to be on the court and can they play as a team. I didn't realize that success in previous years would mean a free ticket for life. If I do need any information about the Logan Tom fan club Iwill contact you doc.
