She missed last season with a knee injury, did Dave Rubio get her another year of eligibility for her?

Well that is surprising considering that she quite clearly played more than the allowable 20% (7 of 30) of matches and I know this is one of the 3 conditions that you must satisfy to be given a medical redshirt. So I guess it must be 20% plus or minus 5%. Maybe I am being a little harsh, but hey, that's athletics you need to take the good with the bad. Maybe Barboza should have got a year back, sure she played in more matches but what's it matter if the rule says 20% then 20% it is.

I remember looking at this situation last season. I was thinking it was a bummer that she got hurt one match after she would have easily qualified for the extra year of eligibility.
Barboza was nowhere near 20%. It was more like 60%.

It is actually based on games, which she played 22 out of 109 games, which is essentially 20%.

actually it is not based on games it is based on "contests" so as I said earlier it is 7 (contests) out of a possible 30 (contests).

I thought it was not "contests" but rather "conquests".
