I can't read anymore of this confusion so let me clarify. Chris Tamas is the setter for UOP. Curt Topple is the right side hitter for Stanford. I swear!

I would like to say the "fact" that Ken Preston started Britt Galang over Jeff Minc for size is complete and utter nonsense. If you look at the heights of the both setters you would see that they're both 6'3". In actuality Jeff Minc put up a more formidable block than Galang. Preston started Galang his senior year because of his mind not his size. Galang put up sauce consistently his whole senior and and brought something positive to the court everytime he stepped on it. In my opinion the best setter in the MPSF will be the setter who is athletic but will be mentally sound.

To respond to the UCSB setting fight I would put my money on Jared Godinez. Jared's name got brought up when talking with Marv Dunphy and from seeing him play in Canada he seemed to think that Jared had become quite a setter for UCSB. I think the competition between the three setters is great and whoever gets the spot will truly earn his position.

Marv Dunphy was also high on 6-5 setter Bryan Newcomb and look where he ended up! Transferring out of Pepp after his freshman year!

Let's cut to the chase here. The most physicall gifted setter in the MPSF if Tamas by far! It is not even close. However, there might be some discussion on who has the best location and leadership skills and that can be debated until hell freezes over because everyone on the site has their own "opinion" and will never be able to sway the masses to their beliefs. Tamas will be with the National team at some point after he is finished with Pacific. Watch out!!!!

There's just not enough teams in this sport to accomodate the talent. There's far too much talent wasting away on 2nd and 3rd teams. It's a wasteful shame that there are only 21 D-1 schools. Either Dane or Bart are going to see a lot of pine time during the next 4 years at UCSB for example, and that's a damn travesty.
This is also why it is so difficult for any Men's team to win the whole thing because any of the top 10 teams are so loaded with deep talent that any one of them can win it.
