I think that you hit the proverbial nail on the head with your choice of the word "Creampuff" it would only be a creampuff schedule if Long Beach State was on the slate...but I'm sure Mick wanted to play a competitive team so hopefully the 49ers can reorganize the program say around 2028.... BTW IDIOT, Long Beach was more than willing to play U$$$$$C both this past year(offered to open at Galen, would have helped your pitiful attendance a great deal) and this year....for some reason Mick, apparently, just doesn't want to take the risk I found this to be interesting, BUT NOT SURPRISING! Your pre-season schedule is probably about the best that Haley could do, since he ain't exactly the most popular D-1 women's coach in the game, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN??

Beachman is right about Haley not being the most popular coach in Div 1. What he failed to say was that he wasn't the most disliked coach, that distinction of course goes to Gimmilaro. Haley at least has the self-esteem to go with his baldness.

Your students can't leave campus for fear of their lives, and your football team is still lookin at some serious NCAA violations over Mr. Bush from two years ago.....Haley can't get people to play you cause other coaches don't like him and the ones that do offer, such as BG, he turns down.....hey, if I was U$C and LBS was soooo bad I would want the "W"....certainly a better win for the RPI than Northridge or a couple of the other two schools that are gonna put their lives at risk and come to Watts!! Now if you really want to get down.....and talk some smack, you wanna start a conversation about the former women's volleyball player who left and transferred, I believe, to Minnesota? I KNOW why she left and so do your players, coaches, and administrators......and I bet that you do to.....a very unfortunate situation, but somewhat indicative of the problems that you all seem to have at your fine institution! So, you wanna play USCYAA??? Let's get it on

So, you wanna play USCYAA??? Let's get it on like I said Beach...you must be bitter because your program has done nothing since the 1900s...meanwhile while you mention Sarah Florian (yeah I have the balls to say it here unlike yourself)...I'm sure UCLA would like to thank you for giving them Ali Dailey...I'm sure she enjoyed that run to the Final Four this year which by the way, Long Beach State was nowhere near... it's funny that you have a ton more posts than I do...and yet you like to bag on different programs around the SoCal area especially the ones that don't have LBSU in their name...so the few times I come on here, I know it's easy to get under your skin...not that difficult...so continue your slams on USC and others....fact remains, your favorite program is nowhere near being at the top...there are many programs outside of SoCal that could dominate The Beach...not just USC and UCLA...so just make sure you look at that team picture of the 1998 national title on a daily basis...it might be awhile before you see it again... ;D

It will be interesting to see if Miss Florian shows up to watch the USC vs. OSU match. I believe she transferred from Minnesota to OSU this past year and is enjoying life as a regular student. USC and Sarah Florian- Not a good experience from what I was told. What a disappointment that she could not/did not continue to play volleyball.

Beach, your constant mentioning of how coaches don't like Haley and your support of BG is almost funny. Your boy isn't winning any popularity contests either. Also the comparison of institutions is probably not an argument your going to win either.

[since Mick Haley ain't exactly the most popular D-1 women's coach in the game, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?? I don't love Coach Haley... there were too many incidents involving Stanford players while he coached the National Team for me to feel that way... but he's one of the giants in our game and deserves more respect than you're showing him, Beachman. Sitting in Omaha with Dave Shoji, Mick Haley, Terry Pettitt and other top coaches within a few seats was quite an experience. It almost felt like being in church...

Mick is possibly the best coach we have had in this country. National Titles at multiple levels, multiple schools I hear negative things about him as national team coach, but that team over achieved and had a great showing. Opposed to everyones consensus that Shoji was the "second coming" and that team was pathetic, with better talent.

Do you mean Toshi Yoshida?

Hmmmm, talk to any of his former National Team Players and you will probably not get anything resembling good reviews.....The ones that I know and heard from had LITTLE IF ANY RESPECT for his coaching skills! Furthermore the last 18 months that he was there he wasn't even "going through the motions", he was just cashing a paycheck.....Brybry, wondered how long it would take for you to emerge from your hole! ;D

If your going to blame coaches when they fail, you have to credit them when they win, you can't have it both ways. Mick was the head coach and that team overachieved. If they over achieved because Mick let his staff do the work, than Mick did a great job. The head coaches job is to put his team in the best position to win. It's like people saying a coach can't coach, he's just a great recruiter. If you're a great recruiter you're a great coach. People may not have liked Mick or his style, but he has won, and it isn't a popularity contest.
