Pessquenebeg: Thanks I will check that out. Unfortunately, Travelocity will only allow me to search for up to 4 rooms and we need 8-10. I will be calling the Ramada directly though to see what they can do for us. You rock.
edit: I called them and they DO have rooms at $99/night within 9 blocks. Unfortunately all rooms are King -- no doubles available. If you have a team that's still in the market but doesn't share rooms between families, this is a GREAT deal!

Do you know Chicago? Midway hotels are 15 minutes away if you catch a cab right away and pay the $25 tab. To catch the train from any of those hotels is a hefty hike, if not ridiculous, wait for the train, and and on the back end the schlep from the nearest train stop to McCormick (probably another cab ride). Impossible in 15 minutes. I was inferring that you rent a car and stay at Midway. McCormick is right on 55, and from there to Cicero isn't far at all. Yes, I know Chicago. I live here on the northside.

You might want to check out some of the other hotels in that Travelocity search. I didn't look closely at most of the others, however, to the extent that I did look it looked like something along the lines of at least half a dozen mentioned they were within walking distance along with being on the skyway system so the walk can be done without having to be outside in nature if it decides to rain or snow (j/k on the snow - I hope .) You might also consider a hotel near the airport to see if you can find one that will have suttles running to / from along with the hours they run overall for the days of the tournament. You could also call the Ramada again to see if they have roll away beds available then people could perhaps alternate nights on the king and rollaway. Good luck.
