While I hope that the local cable company, Comcast, and the B10 Network work this out, I don't know that I will be that upset if it doesn't happen. I feel that volleyball will be relagated to a lot of delayed broadcasts at odd times. However, I do see that MN has two Sunday afternoon matches which may be scheduled to allow for B10 Network coverage. We'll have to wait and see. And another thread gets highjacked and fades slowly into the sunset.............. Kinda like the Badgers' volleyball seasons!

Can't wait either. Anxious to see the ladies from Texas take the court. Go Long Horns!!!

Aha! We must be adding Texas as the 12th team in the Big Ten!
Good choice!
We definitely need another team, so we don't have an odd number of teams to schedule. And Purdue has 2 players from Texas who would probably like to have an away match in Texas. Sounds fun!

Kinda like 2005, when Nebraska clearly established themselves as the best team in the Big Ten by opening their season with wins over Ohio State, Michigan, Minnesota and Penn State.

Hi folks, First Post....On the All Big-10 front. Interesting to see that Katie Johnson from MSU wasn't a consensus pick on the lists. That baffles me a bit. She was among the nation's kill leaders last year, has been a force in the conference since Cathy George took over in 2005, helped the spartans go from 12-18 to 19-12 and a good first round showing against utah, and was a member of the USAV A2 team at the open this year. Putting aside that she played part of the season with a hand injury, that's a good pedigree. I'd put BOTH Johnson and Schatzle on the list from MSU.

I don't think the Wolverines would like that.

I'm sure they wouldn't. While I have respect for Michigan, and the outstanding individuals Mark and Leisa Rosen have at their disposal, the spartans did sweep them both times the teams faced each other.

I don't think the question is whether Johnson and Schatzle are good players; they clearly are a very strong duo. It is just that there are a lot of very good players returning in the league this season, and someone has to get left off the list. Apart from the returning All-Americans, who you pretty much have to include, I don't know if you'll find unanimity about any players, since there is so much depth. It will be interesting to see if this will be a year for offense in the league, since there maybe aren't as many heralded defensive players as in some past years.

I'd agree. You know, this hasn't been posted yet, but I'd be interested in seeing what people believe the order of finish in the big ten will be this season. Here's a possible list.
1. Penn State 2. Minnesota 3. Wisconsin 4. Ohio State 5. Michigan State 6. Purdue 7. Michigan 8. Illinois 9. Northwestern 10. Indiana 11. Iowa

I think George has made huge strides with MSU but not sure due to setter situation that they'll make any big moves up. I think Schatzle is an overall better player than Johnson. Plays all around far better than Johnson. Johnson hits the ball hard but doesn't have a variety of shots. I'd put Schatzle on the Pre-Season All-Big Ten Team. I would not put Johnson on it. I agree with Bucky415, they're both good players but we're talking about All Big Ten. Here's my take on the season rankings. 1. Penn State 2. Wisconsin 3. Purdue 4. Minnesota 5. Michigan 6. Ohio State 7. Michigan State 8. Illinois 9. Northwestern 10. Indiana 11. Iowa
I think 1&2 are locks but I think 3,4,5 could easily flip-flop. I do think Michigan will make some noise this year if Zimmerman is as good as predicted. The Big Ten is tough on newbies. I think OSU will miss Main big time. Would like to put Minnesota lower but they always seem to come thru. Good coaching.
Here's my All-Big Ten 1. Hodge - PSU 2. Fawcett - PSU 3. Harmotto - PSU 4. Dolgner - Wisc 5. Simpson - Wisc 6. Jones - Minn (wouldn't be surprised if she didn't make it. 7. Bruzdzinski - Mich 8. Schatzle - MSU 9. Lynch - Purdue 10. Meyer - OSU 11. Szerszen - OSU 12. Reineke - Wisc

What? What?! You'd _like_ to put them lower?! You wouldn't be surprised if Jones doesn't make it?! What kind of first post is this?!
