Much as I dislike the very nature of this pre-season honor team, the Big Ten insists on naming it every year. But it's quiet still on this forum, and this subject always stirs some controversy, so I'll take a wack at it and throw myself to the Big Ten lions who patrol this board:
Purdue - Lynch, Merlau OSU - Meyer Michigan - Bruzdinski, Miller (maybe) Selsky (big maybe) MSU - Johnson PSU - Harmatto, Fawcette, Hodge, Walbridge (maybe) Wisconsin - Simpson, Reineke, Dolgner, Wack (maybe) Minnesota - Hartman, Jones

1. Hodge - PSU 2. Fawcett - PSU 3. Harmotto - PSU 4. Dolgner - Wisc 5. Simpson - Wisc 6. Jones - Minn 7. Bruzdzinski - Mich 8. Schatzle - MSU 9. Lynch - Purdue 10. Meyer - OSU 11. Brown - Ill 12. Reineke - Wisc
It's usually a 12 person squad.

I think Roehrig will be All Big Ten at the end of the year but not sure if she will be recognized at the beginning.
I will have to go with Jones for MN. Don't think Hartmann will be named.

If I'm thinking best libero in the conference, Nobilio from Northwestern is first on my list. (Apologies to Wack, who has done a superb job for my Badgers.) This kid will be a great one by the time she's done. Nobilio doesn't have the reputation yet to make this list, so she won't be there. But neither will Stevens.

Her constant switching from libero to OH last season probably did not help things. However, I doubt she will get the preseason nod after a somewhat dissapointing season last year.

ESTRELLA Last time I watched Ami Stevens, I was shaking my head thinking what a waste it was that she wasn't playing front row... maybe she did better later in the year, but I can't get any OSU web pages to come up, to check her stats.

I thought the same thing regarding wasted talent when I saw that the Rosen's had moved Lindsay Miller from middle to outside last year at Michigan. Great effort from Miller to adjust, but she was much more effective and a better player at middle. I don't think Michigan had many options last year...

I think this is the best list so far... maybe would sub Anna S from OSU or Katie Johnson from MSU in place of Vicki Brown, but otherwise it's pretty solid.

I also don't think they would take any of these names off the end of the year list: Katie Bruzdzinski, Jr., OH, Michigan Ashley Schatzle, Jr., OH, Michigan State DANIELLE MEYER, Jr., MB, Ohio State NICOLE FAWCETT, So., OH, Penn State Christa Harmotto, So., MH, Penn State Megan Hodge, OH, Penn State Stephanie Lynch, So., MH, Purdue Brittney Dolgner, Fr., OH, Wisconsin Taylor Reineke, Jr., MB, Wisconsin Jackie Simpson, Jr., S, Wisconsin and these might move up: Kate Nobilio, LIB, Northwestern Jessy Jones, Jr., MB, Minnesota

Thanks OhioStateDad!!!! Now you just need to tell google that! I looked at the roster - did I count right? Are there really 9 new players on the team, and 7 old? I thought it was going to be interesting at Purdue this year with 6 new out of 18.
