The Utes are not ready for primetime. AVCA needs to do something about scheduling this tournament. Just kidding of course! Congrats Tennessee!

I sure hope Stoyanova is ok. I don't think she played after game 1, so hopefully that wasn't any injury issue. Good win for UT, esp. after that first game.

Yes, I hope Yuliya is OK. A W has to be huge for this young group.

I was wondering the same about Stoyanova. She didn't play much yesterday either.

What about freshman Nikki Fowler! 10 kills, 36 attempts, 9 assists, 2 aces, 7 digs, and 7 blocks! Not too shabby for her 2nd collegiate start!

I'm going to murder who ever was responsible for this not even being webcast. Based on the scorelines it looked like one of the most exciting matches since I've been at Tennessee, and i had to sit there like a jackass watching numbers change on my screen. Tennessee lost game one 30-10 with a squad of mostly underclassmen, and manages to force a game 5. The majority of this team had never even won a game 5 (we lost all 3 last year), and fell down 12-8 and 13-11, as well as facing a game point at 15-14.
How is the ACVA supposed to try and act like the it's anywhere near the premier tournament in the nation? In addidition to their team scheduling issues, they cant even get coverage. I can watch Air Force vs Chico state (love to AFA who have allready won 2 matches) on live video, and yet there is NOTHING for one of the AVCA showcase games? Not having any coverage of a game is in fact the OPPOSITE of the meaning of the word showcase... They should rename it the avca NOTshowcase tournament. Two giant thumbs down to whoever was responsible.

it was a well fought match; that has some pretty long rallies. It was a good show of that both teams have to improve on this year to be top contenders. it will be an exciting season for both Utah and Tennessee

Most of the free video out there is provided by home teams spending their own money. The NCAA could try for tape-delayed coverage on CSTV, but that might require four Top 25 teams each year, eliminating the circumstances that led to the Lady Vols being invited to this year's tournament.

First of all, it doesnt even have to be free, they could have put it up on their cstv xl online thing (which im almost positive did NOT have it). What are you paying 15 dollars a month for? As for a free stream, I dont know exactly how much it costs to do the online stream, but im confident it's a small number that could have been paid for by a miniscule % of the gate they received. If they were too cheap to do it, Tennesse probably would have been willing to foot the bill, seeing as how we allready do it for all of our home games. Hell at the least they could have setteled for a delayed internet video, which i could have litterally done MYSELF with stuff i allready own, for free. If you guys cared about my friends and i playing pickup basketball, i could go tape our next game and put it on the internet, and you would be able to watch it, which is more than i can say for the Utah match. f you want to try and spin yourself like the premier preseason tournament or something, you should be able to do a video stream. Also, i'd like to give a hug to any utah fans out there. Losing your backup setter, your setter, and your 2 best (right?) hitters all in one off season is just horrible.

I agree with this... the CSTV and the AVCA could have done a webcast. It's not that expensive to have streams of these games nor is it too much of a hassle.. Penn State, for example, was able to set up streaming video of the weekend games with Texas on a relatively short time period and it was an excellent attempt to reach people unable to be there in person. There's probably more to the story with the AVCA/CSTV... but it's annoying. I love being able to see these games. I'm curious if those who subscribe to CSTV XXL are satisfied with the content? I've considered it now that they are accomodating to Mac users.

Just a gentle jab after having to listen to some here say those things about the only unranked team in the tournament!
