Your right I should have know that if you didn't like a PSU player getting the Big Ten award, you would be fine with them getting the national award. That makes perfect sense, I apologize.

Thanks for the scouting tip. I'll pass it along to the Gopher staff. I think they can figure out a way to shut her down.

Considering the alternative? It DOES make perfect sense. Try a political analogy: the candidate I support may not win the democratic primary, but that doesn't mean I will vote for the republican in the final election.

Foluke named Stanford, oops I mean Pac 10, player of the weekFrom the media release: Akinradewo, a junior from Plantation, Fla., was named MVP of the Stanford Invitational after Stanford was victorious over St. Mary's, No. 17 Cal Poly, and No. 9 BYU. For the tournament, Akinradewo hit .547 while collecting 47 kills (4.70 kpg) in 75 attempts with six errors. She recorded double-figure kills in all three matches with a season-best performance of 21 kills in 34 attempts, a season-high of eight blocks, and hit .588 in the win against No. 9 BYU, Stanford's sixth win over a ranked opponent this season. Impressive for a MB!....Foluke for POY '07!!!!!!!!...... Fat chance -- Pavan pretty much has it wrapped up.

Foluke is a tremendous (still) raw talent, but SP would have to break something serious (knock on wood) for her not to repeat as National POW. And even if something unfortunate happened, there's still 3 other NU players in likely contention.

Barboza is just as likely.

I would say candidates would be Pavan, Barboza, Foluke(her numbers will be like Nana) second tier, Larson, Spicer, Kehoe, Harmotto(at this stage can't say Foluke and not Harmotto). Hodge would be in there, but as of right now her stats vs top teams would not be that strong. I would take Pavan and Barboza vs the field right now.

You know, I ALMOST wrote that in the reverse on purpose but figured since GopherBill never reads this section, it wouldn't have been as funny as it otherwise could have been. ;D
