I've noticed that Oregon has upped their record to 9-0. Is this something significant or are they just playing lower ranked teams? Is Oregon a decent team in the Pac-10? I also checked their roster and they are a relatively young team. They have 9 players that are freshmen and sophomores and they only have one senior.
Does Oregon have a chance to be a top tier team in the Pac-10 in the next couple seasons? I'm not saying they would win the Pac-10, but do they have a chance to finish near the top or are they just playing lower ranked teams in the pre-season to boost their record?

Well, Oregon hasn't played the toughest schedule in the country. Based on the latest Pablo ranking, they haven't played a single top 50 team (Baylor is #51) and of those 9 opponents, only 3 have been in the top 100 (Baylor, Kansas at #73, Stephen F. Austin at #96). However, it should be noted that they have swept all of their opponents as well, so they are winning matches pretty comfortably.
How they stack up against the top competition is unknown. They play Baylor this week who is #49 in Pablo's ranking. But the week after, they will play Washington so that will be a bettter judge of how they are doing.

Will this be their second time playing Baylor or their first because you mentioned them in the first paragraph so are you just referring to their upcoming game or have they taken on the Bears already?

They're playing Purdue and Ohio State this weekend. We'll see if they come out undefeated. If they can do that, then I'd say they're for real.

We're going to find out a lot about a lot of teams this weekend in Columbus. It's not just Oregon, but Purdue and Ohio St, too. USC to a lesser extent (I think we all agree they are pretty good - how good it TBD, but if they were to lose this weekend, I think we would interpret it more in light of how the winner is better than they have shown as opposed to USC being that much worse - I'm not sure it is a legitimate conclusion, but I suspect that will be the result)
