Has anybody heard anything about the condition of Joe Klein, the FR setter from BYU, that was hurt in a car accident earlier this year? I know he was in pretty bad shape but nothing has been said about his condition lately.

Joe is now out of the hospital, home, attending PT. Great support from family and friends. Nice to see him walking and talking. The road to recovery will be a long one, and difficult, but knowing Joe he'll get through and be back on the court.

After 6+ weeks in a coma, Joe was strong enough to be pulled out and then slowly weaned of his feeding tubes, trak, drugs etc. As his brain began to take over and "wake up" he had to relearn simple things like walking, eating, speaking, and fine muscle movement. A testament to the care of the hospital, the strength of his family, the thoughts and prayers of many people and the fighting competitive spitit of this young guy he is on the road to making a complete recovering.
He is receiving PT and other therapy but is way ahead of schedule. I know that Joe is hoping/planning on returning to BYU but as Loyola stated there is a bit of necessary recovery to take place first. It'll be tough to keep this kid down as he already is fighting to begin playing and lifting but there are too many people around him to let him move too fast.
It truly has been an amazing story/experience for those involved and we are all hoping for this positive turn to continue.
Regardless of whether Joe returns to BYU and steps on the practice court to continue to push and as he would say "dominate" the All-Americans there LOL.....it is more of relief to see a kid with so much spirit to come out of a tramatic experience so incredibly well!
