Cal with a big win. Had to rally to win it. Esp. being down late in G3.
Scores: Cal wins 3-2 (23-30, 24-30, 30-28, 30-24, 15-11)
Very good effort by ND.

Was at this game. Notre Dame passed like an international team the first two games, got their 6-2 offense going perfectly. the first two games weren't that close. Cal finally got away from jump serves and disrupted Notre Dame with floats the rest of the way, and Notre Dame slide plays weren't as effective. First three games the ND slides were money. Pressey didn't play game one, played the rest of the way.

I have an intense dislike of Notre Dame. It started during the Lou Holtz era. Yes, the hatred is football-related. Religion, too.

Notre Dame is starting to play better. It was a great match to watch. Sorry wolfgang about your dislike of Notre Dame especially over the Catholic religion. (why on a VB site?) Notre Dame makes NO EXCUSES on their emphasis on Faith. The fact that the ND student body ranks number ONE in the nation in volunteer service is a tribute to their Christian spirit. This is even more incredible as it is a top academic school (99 % selecitivity ranking for admission) and these students still give more of their time (not required) than any other school in the country. GO IRISH!!

Looks a lot like BYU's win over SDSU. I like it when a team shows character and come back from being 2 down to a team they should probably defeat.
BTW... what happend to Cal at Colorado. That match really stands out as anomoly for both the Bears and the Buffs.
