Is it just me or is this position for Team USA lack a lot of depth? Bown and Scott are all-world... but who's after that? Joines? Bachman? These two are a good three to four notches down in capability. Who else is out there?

While I don't think Joines is at Bown or Scott's level, I do think she is a decent middle. She preformed quite well this past seaons in Italy (her rookie season), and filled in nicely for Bown during the Grand prix.

I think Stalls and Foluke are just as good as Joines and have the capability to be better very quickly.

I always thought Kropp and Elmer of Nebraska would have been great USA members. Even Holmquist? She was a monster outside for Huskers as well.

I could never see any of them actually playing international ball. It is a whole different type of game. I think people often forget that international ball is not like college at all. It's much faster. And while Kropp and Elmer were both incredible collegiate blockers, they would be eaten alive internationally. Could they survive playing in Puerto Rico...sure. Anywhere else? Probably not.

i believe the US has two very goo dmidldes in bown and scott. i also agree that joines is very capable and did very well at the grand prix. however, i do think stalls and foluke have greater potential than joines. if both continue to play for team usa, then the middle is secure for the next two to three olympics.

Jennifer Joines has the edge over both Stalls and Foluke, and she is geting better and better, although Foluke and Stalls has potential to improve....so does Joines. At this point, Joines is the next best MB that the U.S. has besides Bown and Scott.

I think this is the one position where Team USA has some depth and has the ability to produce athletes who would compete well internationally...
