One of Hawaii's weakness this year is their serving. To me, especially Jamie Houston's little "step float" serve that she's doing. Last night against Boise State, she hit a float serve (that was passed well) and then servied into the net...next time around, she served her little step float serve, and then served out.
I think she should go back to that little "step out" float serve because it dies right inside the 10 ft line at times.
It's not just her, Hawaii will need to serve tougher. Part of the reason for Boise state staying so close is their floaters were tough, again, that was their demise.

I'm actually fine with Houston's serve. While Hawaii isn't getting a lot of aces of their serves, they are all able to move their serves around the court very well. That has been helpful as in certain rotations, it can stop the main attack of the opposing team. Against Idaho, they were serving short against Tamietti and that prevented her from using the step out against the Wahine. Houston has some decent pace on her serve.
My biggest issue is Hittle's serve. I would like to see her go back to a jump serve. She has the weakest serve of all the starters and her float serve doesn't cause as many problems. It's a good change up from everyone else's float serve.
