NU takes game 2 30-24. KU was within 1 pt then NU ran off the last 5 pts.

Game 3: Kayla Banwarth in for Rachel Schwarz. Schwarz was playing great, but Banwarth needs the experience. No other subs yet. NU leads 14-8.
Jordan Larson has had a great match so far including an ace for NU 18-9 lead. In game 2, she had a hard spike kill from about the 15 foot "line" going sideways. Update: 5 straight points by Larson including 3 aces. NU 21-9.
Kayla Banwarth launches her serve into orbit. I guess she's pumped.

NU game 3 & match 30-18. What superlatives apply? You be the judge, but Juggernaut comes to mind.

Schwartz did seem to be playing great, but the stats only show 7 digs. Does that look realistic to those of you who watched?
Glad to finally see Kayla get to play an entire game.

(snip) There weren't that many kill attempts from KU to dig in the first 2 games. 7 digs seems about right. In a short interview on the audio feed after the game, John Cook was not pleased with his team's mental focus. He wasn't even pleased with Larson who had 17 kills @ .353 and several aces.

I think he meant the fans are boring.
Put those flamethrowers down, I was just kidding.

Boring, Cardinal style. In being a Stanford fan, I won't drive 65 miles each way, through commute traffic and pay $8.00 in toll and buy a ticket to watch Stanford beat Oregon State, 30-18, 30-17, 30-20, or whatever, particularly late in the year when the other low in conference team has figured out they're not going to the tournament. Go watch Oregon play Cal instead. More competitive.

Boring, Cardinal style. (snip) I agree. But, OTOH, sitting in the comfort of home watching a webcast of a lopsided match is a different matter. Boring? If it is to you then don't watch and/or don't read VT threads about it.

Being a Nebraska fan must be freaking boring... The outcome of some of the matches is probably not really in question so that may take some of the excitement out of it but seeing some of the fantastic plays is never boring. You should have seen Jordan Larsen put down a kill that should have been just a free ball back over but instead she slams it from about 22 feet back as she was falling backwards. That was an incredible play. Watching CHot coming back from her year off and playing like it was 2005 again is certainly not boring. Getting a chance to see Kayla Banwarth play Libero for a full game and seeing some of the great saves she made was far from boring. Certainly the competition is not what we would like it to be every match so it is what the Huskers do on their side of the net that counts . They need to make sure they are always working on the goals they can and playing every point like the other team has match point against them. Plus, having a dominating team certainly beats the alternative, right?

Actually when JB asked Cook if he was pleased with Larson's game he admitted he was except for her first 3 serves which were out but he said she did get a little closer to the court's area code each time on those serves.
