Excerpts from the game writeup:
Larson totaled her sixth double-double of the season with a season-high 17 kills on .389 hitting, 11 digs and a trio of aces.
Houghtelling, who totaled five of her nine kills in game three, also hit .389 while adding eight digs in the win.
Sarah Pavan joined Larson in double figures in kills with 12 kills and three blocks and 1 ace.
Stalls hit .385 on 6 kills and Amanda Gates cooled off hitting zero on 4 kills.

Shwartz did not pass the ball very well at all. She is becoming a target for every team that the Huskers play and yesterday did a very poor job of passing. The Huskers are a great team with virtually no holes, but the libero position is a concern. If she continues to pass poorly look for Banwarth or Meuller to get more playing time.

Cook hinted during his post game interview that he was not pleased with Schwartz. I think he is much concerned about serve receive than digs. John Baylor gets really fired up over digs. I agree that at this point the libero position is the potential for weakness for the Huskers.

Did Banworth play libero in Gm 3 or just sub in?
Why did JC play Mueller at Libero for 1 match...then not again. People were talking about how much court she covered. She did start for the JN Olympic team at Libero. How can you be the best Libero in the country...but not the 3rd best on your college? I understand that Mueller will play OH next year...but court time is what she needs to become a leader.
Banworth needs the court time too....but she has gotten some already.
Swartz has been the serve receive target for most of our opponents. NOT GOOD! Most teams serve away from the libero...not AT THEM. She had 3 Serve receive errors. Ouch.

Most teams serve away from the libero...not AT THEM. I wouldn't use this as a primary indicator of the overall serve receive ability of a libero. It is also a reflection of the ability level of the other player or players in the serve receive pattern. In this case, Larson and Houghtelling are both performing quite well in that role.

As indicated, she did have 3 serve receive errors but as also indicated, she REALLY had to receive a lot of serves and most were passes pretty well. I know Coach Cook sees a LOT more than I do but I think she is doing pretty well.
Yes, all "extra" players need more court time but so do the ones normally on the court. It is a fine line of subbing out the starters for the subs. I tend to think that minimal subbing is the best route.
