The win over Hawaii was legit. Then again, I am the one who keeps saying "Don't judge a team by their first two weekends..."

My problem with the Wolverines is that it's basically the same team from 2006. Does a very good frosh setter make them a top 10 team? Maybe. I have my doubts.

Top ten? A good frosh setter does not make them top ten in the AVCA. What makes them top ten is starting in a reasonable position, winning, and having teams in front of them lose.
OTOH, Pablo has them 26. Before tonight, I think that wasn't too unreasonable.

Poor Iowa. Big win at home and they still don't have a write up on their web site.

Iowa ought to make it into the top 25 next week. Or perhaps Michigan totally overlooked Iowa in favor of trying to have their best chance against Minnesota - asuming the Hawkyes would be a walkover. Iowa in the Top 25? You had to be joking. One win against an overrated Michigan team hardly constitutes Top 25 talk. At least this year they can be talked about in the top 100.

Or Michigan is just incredibly overrated. Michigan is incredibly overrated. You can set your watch on the predictableness of their annual conference slide as their line up of preseason patsies is gone. And they don't block worth a darn..............

Tell you what. I'll wait to comment until tomorrow when I put Michigan's non-conference schedule up against Wisconsin...

What a joke. #11 in the country?!? Ha, Ha, HA.
After they get beat tomorrow night by the Gophers, Michigan should drop as far as their overrated football team did. They should be out of the Top 25 if there was any justice. And take the way overated Hawaii and New Mexico State while they're at it too.

Tell you what. I'll wait to comment until tomorrow when I put Michigan's non-conference schedule up against Wisconsin... Go ahead, put it up. Wisconsin's non conference scedule was equally as bad as Michigan's. There's a difference between the two teams however. And it isn't a small one........... It's now evident that Michigan's ranking is now more than ever based mostly on their early season win at a vastly overrated Hawaii.

That's got to be the biggest win for Iowa in a LONG time. Goes to show you can't take anybody lightly in the B10.
It must be vary disappointing for Michigan, with it's experienced team, on it's start in the B10. A couple of points and they could be 0-3 with 2 home loss's. And a very good Minnesota team next will make it difficult to turn things around,

So why the crack about the crappy schedule? That certainly isn't the dfference between Michigan and Wisconsin... I hate defending Michigan this much, but the idiocy that people are throwing out is BS. Say what you will, but there was nothing wrong with Michigan's scheduling this year. It has been warranted in the past, but he went out and put together a fair non-conference schedule. Looks like it is average or better for a Big Ten non-conference schedule. That's not a pool of pansies by any means. If you want to criticize Michigan, go for it, but quit projecting based on previous years.

I would agree that Michigan's pre conference schedule was fine. But if teams do the same thing repeatedly year after year how do you NOT project. They've had a strong tendency to start out strong and the fade come B10 time. All the more impresive if they break this trend and return to playing top level VB.

Go ahead and project that they are crumbling in the Big Ten (as I said previously, I am one who is currently advocating to NOT judge teams based on the first two weekends), but don't give us the crap that it is just like other years where they beat up non-conference weaklings before doing so.
Criticize if you must, but don't criticize them for things that aren't true.

I think this loss is not good news for the Gophers. Michigan's going to be fired up on Sunday, plus they have last year's win as a confidence-builder.
I think the knock against Michigan's schedule is not that it was incredibly easy -- it wasn't -- but that it did not warrant the hype. Hype we hear almost every year.
