Kori Cooper and Rachel Schwarz starting.
On HuskerNside, at least the score is displayed on the screen real time and the announcers are in sync with the action.
NU 6-1. TO Baylor. Cooper kill, Holloway ace, Pavan kill, Larson kill, and a couple of overpasses by Baylor.
The TO helped Baylor some. NU 12-6.
Great defense by NU finished by a pipe kill with velocity by CHotel. NU 15-6. Officials timeout.
NU 18-9. Baylor playing a little calmer now.
Holloway sets are short resulting in Baylor blocks. NU 20-13.
Pavan serves 4 in a row. NU 24-13.
Back-forth a bit except twice as many for Nebraska. NU 28-15.
Cooper's at least 3rd kill. NU 29-15.
Baylor cannot pass any NU serve. Game 1 NU 30-15.
NU hit over .500 as a team in 1st game. Pavan high with 7 kills, plus a service ace and a couple of digs. This is target practice.

Baylor jumps out to a 1-0 lead on a Larson hit out.
Back to normal. NU 2-1.
Larson serves out. She's in a mini-funk. NU 3-2.
Baylor is no better in serve receive. NU 6-2.
Good rally on both sides. CHotel kill ends it. NU 8-3.
Baylor does a couple of good things, then Pavan kill, Cooper kill, etc. NU 12-5.
Cooper slide kill: 9 swings, 6 kills no errors = 0.667. NU 15-7.
Another Cooper kill followed by a Pavan kill. NU 17-8.
Baylor couldn't handle the serve receive...Stalls kill. NU 19-10.
Larson kill NU 20-10. TO Baylor.
More Nebraska big guys. NU 24-10.
Out of system set by Stalls to CHotel kill: NU 25-10.
Pavan got surprised by an open kill and missed it into the net. NU 26-12.
Griffin and Licht in.
Game 2: NU 30-12. CHotel swinging like 2005. This is not good news for any team in the NCAAs.

Nice of the crowd to applaud great saves by the other team. Are these the "despicable evil" Husker fans some moron mentioned in another thread, or do those folks have the evening off?

Interesting comment from PSU's coach Russ Rose cited by Holly McPeak during the Stanford vs USC match just recently shown on Fox Sports:
Russ's PSU team having played both NU and Stanford is of the opinion that Stanford is "slightly ahead" of NU at this point in the season.
I wonder what Andy, whose UCLA team has also played both, has to say?

I haven't seen any despicable fans in the entire state of Nebraska. I wonder what alternate-reality that poster was from?

After 2 games stats:
NU: 0.517/0.545 in two games. The rest of the numbers are going past verbally too fast to log them here. Rest assured, the're big.

Game 3: Kayla Banwarth starts as Libero. More experience for Kayla? I thought Rachel Schwarz play very well in Game 1-2.
Announcers state that NU achieves 70% side out on serve receieve. This game? Probably 80+%.
Oh yeah, score: NU 7-4.
Larson kill: NU 10-4.
CHotel ace: NU 11-4.
NU 12-4. TO Baylor. Looks pretty bleak for Baylor. More target practice for NU.
Tara Mueller in for NU. Not sure what position yet.
Nice back-forth settled with Cooper MB kill. NU 15-5. Pretty much a slaughter.
OK, it's really a slaughter. NU 18-5. TO Baylor.
Baylor not giving up. NU 19-7.
Cooper 2 kills, Pavan 1 kill, Mueller 1 kill. 22-8.
OMG! Pavan hits one out. NU 23-9.
Griffin serving in #1. 26-10.
Stalls kill over the net 27-11.
Pavan ace 28-11.
Pavan into the net 28-12. boo.
Mueller and Griffin combine for the last point NU 30-13.

Russ Rose said Stanford was better than Nebraska because he didn't even have time to see Nebraska play.

I too am surprised by the comment from Rose who was drilled off the court in Lincoln. At least they were competitive with Stanford.

I know the level of competition has a lot to do with it but give that it wasn't very good tonight, Nebraska really played well. Sometimes when you are so overpowering, you start playing down to the competition but that certainly didn't happen tonight. The Huskers played VERY SOLID all night.
Cooper was really hot hitting over .700. Tara Mueller got to play about half a game and got 4 kills on 8 attacks with no errors. She is only 5-10 but she can really (dare I say it) "jump out of the gym" and has such a quick arm swing. She is going to be really fun to watch.

I wonder what Andy, whose UCLA team has also played both, has to say? I know he's a Hall of Famer now and pardon my french, but Russ is talking out of his ass. His Nitanny Lions mewl like newborn kittens against Nebraska, -21, -20, -27 on September 2nd. Then two weeks later PSU loses an extremely tight match to Stanford 23-30, 30-23, 30-27, 28-30, 9-15, and Stanford is "slightly ahead"?? I think someone slightly needs to have his head checked. Houghtelling's attacking was not even near 100% then. The last two matches you can see the 2005 POY again. Ailes is way better than Schwarz, but Houghtelling/Larson backrow defense is way better than Barboza/Klineman. Cooper is coming along very quickly; she is solid and more consistent than Girard or Okogbaa. I think Kehoe is better under pressure than Holloway. Unfortunately for the Huskers, the Big 12 is down from where it was a couple years ago, and they play Texas again in three weeks, giving them all of November with no challenges. Anyway, if it happens, it might end up being the best example in the last six championships of which coach is better at adjusting to the in-game conditions.

This is what impresses me most. The top teams don't play "down" to lower ranked opponents, they just demolish them.
Must be fun being a Husker fan these past 3 years.

Dont now if I agree about the Holloway/Kehoe matchup. I think Holloway is more offensive minded and in competition really steps it up. Defensively I think Kehoe has the edge. Lots of talk about Spicer but I think Kehoe and Holloway are the two best in the nation and unlike Spicer,...have the hitters to make them shine.
