I just saw where both Joe Hillman and David Lee have signed on to play for Los Caribes in Puerto Rico. Here is the site: www.zonacaribe.com/

Yeah, I wasn't sleeping ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) , so I was surfing and came across that. That should be a pretty good team. Wouldn't it be great if we could get those guys to post about their experiences?! ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

I picked up the same on Acosta and Wall. Wall and Hillman on the opp? Not too shabby. Acosta is with a team called Criollos de Caguas, and so is Toppel Wall, Lee, and Hillman are with Caribes de San Sebastian. Hmmm, which one of these is Puerto Rican? Only two foreign players allowed on the team, I think? I was talking to a buddy of mine from down there, and I think Wall is a temporary fill in until another guy gets there. I heard Wall wasn't in the best shape when he arrived.

I think Wall is filling in for Hector Soto, he's usually on San Sebastian's team.
Also, just saw Scott Touzinsky on Moca team.
Seems to me like there are more guys from the U.S. than previously.

What kind of money do the players make in that league? How does it compare to the money paid in other countries?

What kind of money do the players make in that league? How does it compare to the money paid in other countries? I'm curious about his as well. I can't imagine that it compares to Italy but have no idea about other countries. Hey vballmom, you have an in, why don't you find out for us and give us a general ball park range. I don't want to know what specific guys are making but a range of salaries would be interesting to know.

As far as I know most of those guys are on short term contracts to finish the season. That means that they are getting paid on a per game basis. To give a ballpark range I would say most are making about 200-400 per loss and 300-500 per win. There is a high demand for American players this year because it is an Olympic year and most of the world's top players who would be playing in PR during the summer (the only league that takes place during the summer as far as I know) are training with their respective national teams and so are not taking up the 2 foreigner spots on each team. Thus the door has been opened for Scott, Curt, Jeff etc...
